I finally made what I pinned on Pinterest

Simple tutorial for these 8x8 baby wash cloths made from flannel.

I made 38 of them with flannel I had on hand. I posted all of them on my Facebook site, I'd like to sell them at an upcoming craft fair.

Here's a few that I made...some are sets and some coordinate, others are 1 of  kind

I enjoyed making these. 

I've been out of Swiffer refills for about a week, I've been to the store at least a half dozen times and even though they were on the list...still forgotten. Tonight I remembered, I saw this Pinterest idea about making your own and hey, I had fleece and thread.

The original picture is lovely and colorful!  The link to the instructions was awful.

I tried to follow the instructions and it was a fail..not epic, but not acceptable.

   I then took another look at the original picture and decided to just wing it.

Here are my pictures and yes, it works!

my easy instructions were quickly written on the back of a business card. I'll be making more.

2 small tubes refrigerator buttermilk biscuits OR 1 tube Pillsbury Grands buttermilk biscuits 

3 Tbsp. butter, melted

1/2 C. pancake syrup (any brand you like, I used Mrs. Buttersworth)

1/3 C. packed light brown sugar

1/2 tsp. cinnamon

1/4 C. chopped pecans, optional

1/4 C. chopped almonds, optional

Instructions:

Spray a fluted pan with non-stick spray. Combine the melted butter and syrup in a small bowl and set aside. In another bowl, combine the brown sugar, cinnamon, and nuts (if desired). Place about half of the syrup mixture in the bottom of the pan. Then sprinkle half of the brown sugar mixture on top. Lay the biscuits on the bottom of the pan, overlapping edges (closely together) to form a ring. Top with remaining syrup and sugar mixtures. Bake at 375 degrees for approximately 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool for 1 minute in the pan, then invert onto a serving platter and enjoy!

I didn't have a bundt pan so I used a loaf pan, same amount of rolls and it worked just perfect, they were easy and delicious and WILL be made again.

2. Making Fabric Softener...I've been doing it for months, can't tell the difference. Very cheap to make and a batch whips up in no time, even my 15 year old makes it when we run out...it's a keeper too. As you can see, I wrote the directions right on the jug.  No need to measure the conditioner, it is the exact amount.

3.  Cleaning the gross shower floor (don't judge me, it must be a problem if you don't have a maid or this person wouldn't have tried it in the first place). I don't really want to show my results (look away now if you are squeamish). Also, I used Ajax and not Dawn.  I am going to try again with Dawn to see if it finishes the task.

4. No grate laundry detergent...my husband picked out the Dawn "scent" I told him he better like it, because I'm making A LOT of laundry detergent.

It seems very thin (but looks thin in the Pin too)...I'll report back on this one.

Just started the first load with this detergent.

What I can tell so far is that it doesn't suds up in the washing machine, not skeptical yet...

I was all excited, I had all the ingredients. I NEVER have all the ingredients.  I wanted to make this even easier so I mixed the marinade last night so all I'd have to do is put chicken in Crockpot, pour marinade over the chicken and turn it on.

Here's the recipe from the original website:

Crockpot Sesame Chicken

Crockpot Sesame Chicken 2 1bs. skinless, boneless chicken thighs. 1/2 c. low sodium soy sauce 1/3 c. packed brown sugar 1/4 tsp. garlic powder 1/4 tsp. ground ginger 1 Tbsp. ketchup 1 Tbsp. toasted sesame seeds Place chicken thighs in the slow cooker. Whisk together remaining ingredients in a bowl and pour over chicken.Cover and cook on low 6 to 8 hours or on high 3 or 4. Serves 4 - 6.

I followed the directions and cooked for the time indicated.  I walked into my house after work and it smells like somethings burning.  The brown sugar? The chicken?  I have no idea.  I take the lid off the Crockpot and the chicken looks black.  I decide to break it up, like you would for a pulled pork sandwich.  My son looks over my shoulder and says "is that beef, I thought we were having chicken" LOL.

It's not the worst thing I've ever eaten, it was dry and salty.  I sprinkled more sesame seeds on top and served with sticky rice.  I will not make again, but if I did...double the marinade.

One of my most favorite Old Navy T-shirts got some random holes in it. I was very disappointed until I saw this super easy tutorial on Pinterest.  I came home from work today and made it in about 20 minutes.  I love how it turned out!

As you can see the instruction are almost too easy.  In case you want to make it, I recommend cutting each section approx 1/2" apart.

My daughter received a Firefly cell phone for Christmas.  She has been very responsible, but a boy took her phone and threw it and the face plate cracked and fell off, we found 2 of the pieces and it is now taped together.  My husband had wanted me to make a case, so I did (a little too late).

I changed a few things when I made mine today.  As the phone was smaller, I used a larger seam allowance.  I did not use a coordinating color, but I trimmed the front with a piece of bias tape.  I also used fleece instead of batting and it will have a carabiner on it to attach to her jeans.

So here is my case.  

I have been wanting to try this scarf for awhile.  I had a piece of white textured knit in my fabric stash so I figured I'd use it before investing any money in a new piece of fabric. I made the scarf as directed but wasn't real trilled with how big/thick it turned out, so I trimmed mine down and I like it much better.

Picture one is my finished project as instructed and picture 2 is my version.  I'm not too sure I'm crazy about it being white, so I may dye it.  If so, I'll post a revised version.

This morning I took out one of my favorite long sleeve v-necks from Old Navy and discovered it had a bleach mark on it.  I remembered pinning this DIY project just a day or so ago.  Normally, I would have been devastated, because that's how I roll.

BUT, I knew I could fix this problem and still be able to wear the shirt!!

It's funny how bleach on black turns red, not what I expected...but I like it.

I will NEVER hem jeans any other way.  This is genius.

Here is my finished product, I was so pleased, I was smiling while ironing!!

From a distance you can not even tell I hemmed these and without cutting the jeans.

Close-up you can kinda see where the alteration was made.  

My husband wanted me to make curtains for the new theatre room.  I have seen fabric covered roller shade tutorials before but never had a place to hang that type of curtain.  I wanted something no frills and so I decided this was the place to use the fabric covered roller shade.

Along with this tutorial I also used this website.

Pinned 8 days ago and immediately fell in love.  I have cut the ribbon and chose my button.  I need to buy the shirt.  Let's see how long this one takes me.

11/20 Sent my hubby to Walmart to pick up a tshirt, he got distracted and came home with nothing :( Oh well, maybe I'll stop and pick one up at Joann's or Walmart on my way home tomorrow.  I really want to have this done by Dec 1...that's my goal.

12/3 purchased and washed the shirt...my daughter chose black.  I will most like finish this long awaited project tomorrow!  Pretty excited actually :)

The original tutorial has the top stapled on, but I wanted to put my own spin on it.  

I made it with a drawstring to tie onto the tray table (table can still be used as intended) and I can also use it flat on a table top.
