Let the past die. Kill it, if you have to

she couldn’t help but grin brightly at kylo’s words. she’d never let him out of her sight if it meant he wouldn’t try and take over the galaxy. rey leaned into the touch to her cheek closing her eyes for a brief moment humming softly. “bring peace to the galaxy?” she repeated as she raised an eyebrow questionably at his choice of words. “as if you’d ever bring peace.” she chuckled lightly.

It's a nice serene moment under his fingers before her little quip has him sighing, "And you don't believe I could?"

rey mimicked his facial expression raising an eyebrow as well. the smirk on her lips grew even wider as she stepped closer to kylo eyes never leaving his. “well i’m presenting an opportunity for you to slip away trying to take over the galaxy again without me trying to stop you.” she hummed playfully. “but if you think it’s wiser for me to stay i’ll do it.”

He scoffs, "As if you would ever allow that.." with a chuckle he reaches to brush over her smiling cheek, "I think we can take our chances. See where this all goes, before I take over and bring peace to the galaxy."

rey couldn’t help but smile brightly at his answer. the way he closed his eyes even if it was for a brief moment rey read into it as a sign of trust. because if he didn’t trust her closing his eyes would have been a dangerous move. but she wasn’t going to do anything reckless or dangerous. she chuckled lightly at him as she shook her head a little keeping her hand against his cheek. “should i leave you alone to it?” she questioned playfully.

rey didn’t flinch when ren took a hold of her wrist. her hazel eyes continued to stay on his face as a smile spread across her lips. “well what can i say? i like living dangerously.” she teased back as she brushed her thumb over his cheek. “question is, what are you going to do about it?” she asked tilting her head to the side as she brushed back a strand of dark hair away from his forehead.

as she removed the helmet holding it between her hands, rey’s eyes stayed focused on ren as she let the piece of armour slip through her hands and let it land on the floor with a metallic thud. she reached up to carefully brush the dark hair away from his eyes in a soft touch. rey smiled softly at him trying to ignore the faint blush on her cheeks feeling silly which only made her blush even more. “just trying to get you to change your mind on taking over the galaxy.” she chuckled lightly.

looking at where their hands touched rey couldn’t help but smile softly. she pulled her hand to herself before reaching up to remove his helmet hesitantly eyes focused at her counterpart. he was more handsome than she had remembered. a faint blush rose to her cheeks as she held the helmet in her hands. “i don’t think so either.” she hummed.

looking down at the hand being stretched out to her, rey hesitated for a moment debating within herself if she should take it or not. “balance…” she repeated quietly as if she was tasting the meaning of the word. but she decided to take the hand. carefully she placed her own hand in kylo’s looking up at him.

He understands the hesitance and he is not offended, but as the hand is placed in his own, a breath is let out that he had not realized he was holding. Kylo sighs, "I do not know why the Force connects us so, but one day we may find the reason.. But it is not a bad thing."

rey sensed the tug of his lips in his voice. she looked up at kylo with bright eyes as she flexed her hand. “but why?” she questioned tilting her head to the side.

With a slow inhale, he shakes his head and draws a bit closer to her, "I am not sure. Balance, perhaps? Two sides of the same coin?" Ren sighs and offers a gloved hand, "I do not know yet.. "

“that should be a good thing, right?” rey quipped looking up at ren.

There is a soft tug of his lips under the mask and he nods once, "Yes. We are connected far more than I had originally believed."
