I kept listening to one song and thinking "I wonder if I pitched this down... I wonder if I could make it sound like Barley..." I proceeded to pitch it down just a little (0.9x) and lo-and-behold, it sounds like Barley.

i've finished scripting episode 1 and i'm now doing more stills. to save me time, one still I do will be fully colored, and the others will be sketches. if you want to draw a still, this is now your chance to hmu! and if there's a moment where you're drawing a still for an ep and you think you can't finish it before the ep premieres, don't worry!! i'll add it in the doc later, it's no big deal :)

the series will take place after the epilogue of the film, which will be one month after the quest. the onward comic says the epilogue takes place a year after, while dan scanlon himself has said 3 months (although he sounded uncertain when he said it on the commentary). however the quests of yore book said something like "the first month after the quest" and personally i think that's better. so i'm going with that.

the story:

Ian thought he had everything, a good girlfriend, a great and very supportive brother and mother, and a very special best friend, to him life couldn't be better.

until One day, out of the blue, sadalia comes over to Ian's house and tells him that she's breaking up with him and confesses to him that she never really loved him like Ian did.

Ian is devastated and that night, dreams about kitty.

the next morning, Ian is getting ready, now in a much happier mood, and decides to go visit kitty.

(low Sat color is the breakup between Ian and sadalia and the aftermath, the mono color is Ian's dream of kitty, and the bright vivid colors are Ian and kitty together and hanging out.)
