                  hot and heavy  —  that’s where she born,  and that’s where she stays.  born to a family of hunters,  rosalind comes to rely on two things  :  her trusty laptop and her parents returning at dawn’s first light.  restless summers are spent pouring over her laptop,  where she scours headlines and social media for clues of wayward witches and vampire and chokes the wifi signals torrenting samples of music to keep her mind and hands busy for the quiet night hours.  on the oustide,  they’re like every other suburban family on the outskirts of atlanta.  inside?  locked and gridded and protected.  

rosalind’s taste of rebellion is doing something normal  :  going off to college while her brother takes up the family stake.  she’s never angry at them for their choices  —  not outside of the chaos that raging teenage hormones induce  —  she was ...  fine.  fine.  they’re there for her graduations,  and she’s there for her brother’s wedding.  family photos and holidays.  despite the war they’ve fought, the orys do their damndest to make it work.  

everwinter wasn’t her first choice of a new home,  but life threw a curveball in the form of one of her best friends becoming a creature of the night.  rosalind’s seen bloodthirsty vampires,  newborns on the verge of snapping,  and is determined to not make that a future for someone she cares about so much.  what she was not expecting was the painful prickling of butterfly wings to sprout on her skin the second she set foot into the town.  a soulmark.  a fucking soulmark in a moment like this.

romantic  :  exes on good terms.  exes on bad terms.  first love.  awkward one night stand.  exes with lingering feelings.  

negative  :  enemies.  friends turned enemies.  mutual annoyance  .  jealousy .  enemies because of a misunderstanding.  virtual enemy  .  

✰ ⠀ideology  .  

witches and vampires  :  shaky at best.  roz holds them both at arm’s length,  but she’s well aware there are the good and bad.  there’s witches and vampires she should be scared of and ones that won’t harm her or anyone else.  maybe.  that’s what she tells herself.  she’s holds a deep judgement against newborns and chaotic witches.  believes in control and peace mostly,  like her parents,  and judges the “stronger” of the groups for letting wayward ones act waywardly.
