I am not really familiar with fanfictions and I want to read a damn good one but I have no idea how can I find one suitable for my tastes. I guess you may have some advices. The features I am looking for are:

I do not like romance at all (if there will be I prefer it not to be center and I can't stand so much straight love sorry)

It has to make sense (some are really illogical)

Not too long (I am having a really important exam so I don't have much time to read)

Which websites or apps?

I always knew this day would come, when someone would ask me for fic recommendations and I would be 100% unprepared! 😖😆

First off, I pretty much exclusively only read Malec fics. Archive of Our Own is my choice site (AO3).

I think my history is over 140 pages now 🙈

Based off of your features and the sheer amount of fics I have read I think the best thing to do would give you some of my favorite authors so that you can go browse their works and find something you like!

Idk if you prefer Show or Book Malec so I’ll try and give well-rounded recommendations 🥰

Here are some of my recommendations :

⭐️ @cuubism — is a magnificent talent and her works are unparalleled. She has longer fics like Dissolution and Cradling the Sun, as well as shorter one-shots like, Bundled Up, Dear Life, and Two Hands. She also has a couple of series going on as well! I know you said about the length, but I would definitely give Dissolution a shot!!

She writes Show! Malec and is a wiz at the hurt/comfort trope so those are things to consider when you check her out!

⭐️ @my-archerboy — writings focus on Book! Malec. She has incredible missing scenes/ continuation one-shots like Pillow! Fight and You should Always have Cake, as well as adorable and amazing AU series like Call Me Maybe and School Daze. She also wrote the Malec training session from the show in her own words which is always a great read!

⭐️ @arialerendeair is a QUEEN! She’s written for every trope in existence I’m sure! Haha Her writings focus on Show! Malec and range from canon, canon-divergent, to AU; and fluff to more explicit reads. She’s well-known for her Birthday Bash & BAMF Alec/ BAMF Magnus series which show case our favorite boys being the badass babes that they are.

⭐️ Liguam on AO3 has a fantastic series titled Post 3x10: Erchomai which focuses on Show! Malec, specifically Magnus dealing with the aftermaths of giving up his magic. They are just small 500-1,000 word one-shots and it’s an incredible series.

Some of my other favorite Authors who write Malec, but also other characters from the show and books are @lightwormsiblings (alistoney on A03) has amazing pieces focused on Shadowhunters the show! @khaleesiofalicante has incredible canon & AU fics! @silver-lily-louise, @bytheangell, @sfjessii are all incredibly talented and have amazing works worth checking out!
