A fic where everything’s basically the same but from the beginning they realized that they were totally allowed to be “friends” off the ice and not rly mention it to anyone, but not rly try to hide it either? So they can have like a few pictures of each other on their phones, they might have their contacts saved under real names, or maybe they’d still use fake ones just bc of the contents of their messages lol. So it’s not like a major change, like some fics I’ve seen where they’re know to be friends from the beginning, and it’s marketed as like a “friendly rivalry”; the public perception is almost exactly the same, but like one time Hayden catches a glimpse over Shane’s shoulder of a photo of Ilya shirtless and flipping of the camera in his kitchen while shoving Cheetos in his mouth or some shit. And he’s like wtf Shane? But instead of having a panic attack Shane just goes “what?” pretending not to know why Hayden might possibly be confused by this. “Dude why the fuck do you have a picture of Rozanov… with…. wtf?” And Shane’s just like “🤷 I was making fun of him for the Cheetos” and Hayden basically has no choice but to accept that his best friend unironically hangs out casually with Ilya Rozanov off the ice.

Just had someone pin my comment on their Instagram post for the first time and it’s a stupid joke about ao3 using a lyric from their song, have I peaked guys?

Hey am I the only person who doesn’t think the contextual information that those weren’t fans of Hudson and just wanted to resell the autographs is very important? Like that’s scummy but you know what else is scummy? FOLLOWING SOMEONE HOME WITHOUT CONSENT? People are clarifying this context where it’s not given and people are like “ohhh, that’s okay then! Now that I know the impure intentions of the autograph-seekers, I wish to defend this victim of stalking and harassment!” 😀

Some people do NOT know how to be in a fandom.

Living in my brain means spending hours thinking about the concept of one of those “the characters watch the show” fics (I need more of these btw pleaseeeeee) except instead of the actual show it’s like a YouTube crackvideo or something so they get absolutely no context and just completely random out of order snippets from the past decade of Shane and Ilyas lives.

Scrolling Ao3 results (especially when you unfilter the search slightly) is like flying past windows into endless different realms of hell. (What’s that meme- Ao3 has lead me to places I wouldn’t go with a gun?)
