if we being honest, rihanna doesn’t seem like the best person to text in a crisis
I feel like she’s the type to text back 5 hours later like “you good? 👀”

orville peck is an absolute legend for hiding his face 24/7 and then describing himself in his music like “don’t worry guys, I’m hot”Â

Doom running on a pregnancy test.
Never Forget the Reign of Terror waged against Muslims in the nearly two decades following 9/11.
i’m obsessed with shows like supernatural, teen wolf, etc. where a person gets attacked and the doctor in the ER is immediately like “it looks like they were attacked by a wolf” like it makes me FEEL INSANE
HOW many wolf attacks is the average US ER doctor seeing to make this instant assessment
as a wildlife biologist I wouldn’t assume a wolf attack unless the victim was found while being Actively attacked by wolves
It’s a different thing in the USA we actually have wild animals.
I’m American. I got my degree in West Virginia. There have been 2 (MAYBE 3, it’s a little unclear) verifiable fatal wolf attacks in All of North America since at least as far back as 1900. I promise no doctor is assuming wolves when a patient gets rolled in. That said, this post is just a joke
So, in this case, what a doctor will assume?
Asking for a writer.
I’m not a doctor, but from the wildlife perspective, I’d assume dogs first if the person were in-town. MAYBE a bear, depending on where you are. Grizzly country and black bear country are different. If you need a character to get attacked by a wild animal, just start by googling historic cases of animal attacks in the setting.Â
ALSO, I know it’s fiction, but I hope writers start thinking more about our responsibility when we portray wildlife. Fiction has done a lot of damage to predator species for centuries, so it’d be nice to start portraying them more realistically.
I’ve only ever been attacked by an animal in the wild once. I was in a the woods of a state park.
It was a feral domestic cat, orange tabby.
*person attacked by a werewolf is wheeled into the ER* “it looks like they were attacked by a… very big raccon?”
*vampire victim wheeled in*
doctor: how big did witnesses say the possum was

I feel like a more productive conversation to have in the midst of “tiktok is spying on you -> every app is spying on you” is to remind people that you still do have power to limit how much data is collected on you. Switch to firefox, transfer your saved passwords to 1password or lastpass, set your default search engine to duckduckgo (I only need to switch back to google for maybe 2% of my searches), install an adblocker, go through your device settings and turn off any permissions that you’re not sure if they’re absolutely necessary. If you want to go the extra mile, only access social media through browsers instead of using the native apps. Spend an hour on your digital hygiene and you’re making your life that much harder to monetize and surveil.
If you guys didn’t see some white girl posted a montage of her colonizer experience in Hawai'i and has been getting dragged for days now lmao I’m not gonna link it cause it’s just her and some other haole girls she met her literally dancing on graves and sacred places and showing off her dirty hair.
But I did a little thread on why these romanticized ads of our home harms us (not super in depth but touches on some important points). And I was a lot nicer about it cause I actually do care if you come to visit and I’d actually prefer that everyone leave us alone forever but colonizers gonna colonize and settlers gonna settle 🤷🏽‍♀️
Doesn’t this seem at least a *little* xenophobic?
Me: think about the ways you harm indegenous people when you occupy our land
Yall: If you won’t let me come to your land and colonize it, you’re xenophobic
Learn what real xenophobia is. Central Americans seeking asylum are dying at the U.S. border because of white American xenophobia.
The American occupation sure is xenophobic, friends, not this post
