Yellow Diamond
Yellow diamonds are a yellow variant of diamond and are less commonly found than colourless or white diamonds, yet around 60% of all fancy coloured diamonds are such. The yellow colour in these diamonds are caused by nitrogen atoms being present in the diamond causing an absorption of blue light. The more nitrogen the more yellow the gem will be. These gems are found all over the world but are primarily found in south africa with the first yellow diamond being found there in 1867. The largest natural diamond that has been found was a yellow diamond in 1927, it was named “The Kimberley Octahedron” and weighs 616 carats. Yellow diamonds symbolise optimism, joy and cheerfulness. It is heavily associated with the Solar Plexus “chakra”/energy source.
