You may feel like youβre not but you truly are, people tend to diminish themselves when comparing to others but always forget to look how far theyβve comeβ¦
If you are an artist reading this I want you to look at your first drawings you posted, youβll probably think that your drawing is nothing special But the you back then thought it was and others agreed, so you drew more and more. Now try and compare with today, your old drawing is still special but you can probably see how youβve improved, maybe your lineart is better, maybe your pencil/pen strokes are smoother, maybe your coloring got better, whatever it is you did get better and your drawings are still special. It doesnt matter if your drawings didnt get many views, likes or reblogs, it doesnβt matter if you had an artist block that lasted days, weeks or even months, what matters is that you enjoyed making it, so stand proud of all your drawings! YOU ARE AMAZING!
If youβre a writer take a look at your first storyβ¦ No, not necessarily the story that you wrote for AO3 or something like that, your actual first story, the one you used to think about writing all the time but never got to or maybe you did, I donβt know everybody, but the point is: you never did write it because you didnβt think you had the skill or creativity to do it, but something in you changedβ¦ you decided to give it a try and thatβs when the world opened to you. Sure, sometimes you didnβt know what to write but you persevered nonetheless and still wrote and, suddenly, it was finishedβ¦ your first story. Maybe it isnβt perfect but you did it! But wait, if you made one that means you can write another so you started to write more and moreβ¦ We sometimes forget our first story but it shows us how much we progressed, think about itβ¦ maybe you know how to write more complex and nuanced characters, maybe you know how to describe scenes way better, heck, your vocabulary has expanded since then, these are all possible things that you may have gotten better and you donβt even realize, that takes a lot of effort and dedication! YOU ARE AMAZING!
I see so many people thinking that they arenβt enough or that their art or stories arenβt goodβ¦ and yet they still draw/write and when I look at their workβ¦ itβs simply AMAZING and I wonder how do they not see what I see, how do they not realize that YOU ARE AMAZING! I donβt care if there are other artist with more likes or with βbetterβ art (what does that even mean?) we are talking about YOU and for me, seeing improvement on your part is already an art form in itself and just goes to show thatβ¦
