Exhaustion presented itself pretty quick for one who had not done anything even remotely resembling exercise for the past two years. Seated on a bench was Kisaragi Shintarou, sweat dripping off his forehead and face paler than usual. He would kill for a cola right about now, but alas, his wallet only had the sad last remains of 35 yen left, and not a single vending machine was in sight. Of course there was the option of going to a grocery store where he could use his card, but that would require more exercise, something he did not have the energy for right now.
Instead, as his breath returned to him, he began humming and then singing in a low tune with a voice that cracked from how little it had been used for the past two years. But it was okay. No one was there to hear him anyway.
♪ Somewhere in these non-hectic days, Something might have already gone wrong. The color of your hair, Your smile, Some people might have already forgotten them. ♪
@mxkiss
The great outdoors. How much he hated it. The sun blazing down from above, people walking around crowding all around him. He preferred to keep his days outside of the house to days where it was clouded and keep the times to evenings or hours where everyone was in school and at work. It had mostly managed to get him by so far. A few incidents did happen, but he still lived. For now. Today was not a day to go out, and thus he remained within his apartment where he was safe.
Or so he thought he was, but a moment later, he was laying flat on his back with the ceiling spreading above, a burning pain spreading on his forehead. Glass was shattered around him and a few metres away a volleyball was bouncing away leisurely.

@kittymatsv
There were very few things in life Shintarou actually took pleasure in, and as time passed, they became less and less. He enjoyed songwriting. He liked composing music. He took pleasure in a good game every once in a while. Although he didn’t like setting foot outside of his apartment there were two places he didn’t mind as much. The local net café and the arcade. The café had everything he had at hope, so it was very rare that he found himself there, but when he was outside and not going shopping, he found his feet dragging him to the arcade.
After a few games though, even this pleasure would just become a repetitive endeavour: Shintarou’s gaming skill was so high that he had already made the high score lists on most of the machines save for a few games that were completely out of his league of expertise (mainly those that involved moving the whole body and not just the fingers), and boredom would take over instead.
He was sitting at a fighting game machine for one last round when suddenly six words popped up on his screen.

@leggiana
One would never imagine a person who took so little interest in the people around him as Shintarou to be much into celebrities. But despite his status as a social dropout and a virgin he was still a young boy at his best age, and he took as great an interest in the female body as others his age would. Even he had his favourites, and even he had to buy fashion magazines every once in a while to ogle his models. He hadn’t the nerve to buy anything a step above in person.
One thing was looking at models on the pages, another entirely was standing face to face with someone you recognised as being worlds above yourself.
What the hell?
How?
His mind had long stopped working: that clever mind that could deduce any problem save for one, had completely malfunctioned. It seemed impossible as someone of such a status would go grocery shopping in such a lowly store.
-- “ Y... you’re... ”
Quickly he hid the magazine with the exact same face as the one before him printed on the cover behind his back.

@enrapturings
When Shintarou had heard the words the first time, he couldn’t believe his ears. When he heard them repeated he thought the blonde teen had to be mad. ‘You should become a host’? Him? The least eligible for such a position to ever walk the earth? No way in hell was he going to spend his days tending to customers and entertaining them. Who in their right mind would even pick him as their suitor in the first place? He was scrawny, had greasy hair and bags under his eyes and whenever he got a chance to listen to his own voice it was so grating on the ears that he wanted to just disappear. How could he decline the other politely?
-- “ No way in hell. ”
That’d do.

So they found yet another one of his accounts, huh? It was no surprise really -- he had become somewhat of an urban legend of the forum, always finding new ways around the system and being the number one person the mods wanted to get rid of more than anything. They were just wusses who didn’t know how to handle the conflicts his controversial opinions created. It was tim to pull out another one of his shadow accounts. But who should he be this time? A quick glance through the forums from his main to gain inspiration made him lay eyes on one particular entry in the introductions forum. Namely the location described.
-- “ Talia, huh? ”
Well, why not? Activating a new account through a local proxy he went into the thread, securing his new ‘identity’ before going through the same old spiel of being figured out and shut down.
Topic: Really?!?! User: ToumeiYuurei
Hi! I'm a new user on this forum as well. I never expected anyone else from Talia to be around this place! How funny (笑)
❝What do you actually want me to kill you?❞ He grinned, leaning down so that his face was inches close to the male’s ❝Because I wouldn’t mind doing so. It’s been a while since I’ve taken someone’s life.❞ He chuckled, leaning away and crossing his arms ❝But yes, I’m letting you go. For now. Unlike you, I have things to do and a long day ahead of me.❞ He turned away from the other, looking down at the remaining items on the list he has yet to get.
❝Food won’t appear magically and the computers won’t fix themselves.❞ He looked back at him ❝Now I don’t have time to waste on you.❞ He looks over to the store he needed to head to and started walking away from the other without saying a word.
-- “ Eeek! N-no! That’s not it! ForgivemeIpromisewon’tdoitagain-- ”
Alas, he had a feeling the other wasn’t even listening to his pleas anymore. Why should he bother wasting time on a useless human being as him anyway? Although he wanted to refute the suppositions, the other was right -- he didn’t have anything particular to do after grocery shopping. This would be it, they would part ways and never meet again. Except there was one big problem.
Putting a bit of distance between them, Shintarou began walking the exact same direction as this person who he wanted nothing more than to avoid like the plague.
Ren was waiting for Misaki to finish up what he was doing. He wanted to stick around and play with the dogs he saw here. He agreed that as long as he stays exactly where he is and to not talk to any suspicious people, it was fine. So here he was, playing with the dogs who warmed up to him rather quickly. It was the same when he befriended some of the wolves at the forest in the west.
In the middle of petting the dogs and giving them attention, he heard a weak voice. He looked up, seeing the male speak to him. He looked shaken up, suspicious too. He was told to not speak to anyone who seemed suspicious, so he just stared up at the other.
The dogs of course stuck close to the younger teen and growled at the stranger. Warning the other that if there was any wrong move, they’d attack.
Feeling even more uncomfortable as he was met with nothing but silence, Shintarou shifted a bit on his feet, awkwardly. Now that he thought about it, asking a kid for the directions to a bank might not have been the best move, but as he had no clue where he was or how to get away from here other than just walking in the first and the best direction, he saw little other choice. He wanted to get this over swiftly and easily and thus as much as he hated it, what rationality that remained in his mind right now told him to ask for directions.
Apparently it was a general male stereotype that one did not ask for help when lost, but to Shintarou that was just stupidity and pride speaking. If he was lost, he didn’t want to waste even more time walking aimlessly around. Wait a second, what was that sound?
From behind the boy appeared two large dogs -- although he didn’t have any particular fear for them, he couldn’t say that he liked the way they looked at him either. Had he done something wrong? Feeling his pulse rise and the cold sweat appear on his forehead, Shintarou slowly, shakingly took a few hesitant steps backwards. Shit. What was that useless trivia he had red about dogs? They could sense your fear. Fuck fuck fuck... okay, he just had to calm down... completely calm... he could do this...
Bottle of happiness | Honey & Shintarou
@idiotneet
The sun was shining, a warm breeze passed through the streets. Everything about this day was perfect. The shota skipped through the streets of Hani’i happily, planning to take full advantage of the day. He had both Bun-Bun and Chu-Chi with him, not wanting them to miss out on anything. In fact, he had even invited his brother along, but the invitation was met with a glare and a mumble that Chika-chan was going to the family dojo.
It was perfect weather for ice cream. Just a few days ago, Honey had to walk around his estate in a huge, pink blanket in order to keep himself warm. At least he got to have fun wearing the blanket. Honey had pretended that whole day that he was a king, considering the way it dragged behind him like a cape.
Even without the blanket-cape, Honey still felt like royalty. Having more than enough money, he planned to buy the biggest ice cream cone he could, along with all the different sprinkles and sauces. Make that two ice cream cones. Maybe three, if he still wanted ice cream, which was very likely. Or maybe he should get one of those super mega jumbo slushies with all of the colours of the rainbow. Those were good too.
Bouncing along the street, softly singing a happy tune about the ice cream he was about to buy, he suddenly stopped when another person’s face came into view. The boy in question looked the complete opposite of happy. For a moment, Honey stood there staring at him, trying to figure out why anybody wouldn’t be cheerful. The blond had to do something about it.
Making sure that both toy bunnies were firmly grasped in one hand, he ran up to the boy from behind. He grabbed one of the taller boy’s hands to get his attention, and asked, “Why don’t you look happy? I know what’ll make you happy! Here, I’ll let you hold either Bun-Bun or Chu-Chi! Then we can play together!” Honey demonstrated both toys by holding them straight up. There was no way anybody could resist his adorable toys.
Spring. How much he hated it. Not as much as the unbearable heat of summer, but on days like this where the sun was blazing down from above and barely a breeze around, it felt like torture. Especially when his apartment was without air conditioning and the small electric fan he possessed to shield himself from the heat of the coming summer was out of order. Had it at least been windy, he could open a window and somehow pull through but the suffering heat of his stationary only served to warm his room even more.
He was dying. No, he was already dead and had finally been claimed by hell. Had he believed in such abstract concepts as heaven and hell, perhaps he would have thought such, but alas, he was still very much alive and his sufferings weren’t going to end until evening when the sun finally went down. Could he really withstand it for so long?
No way. He needed to find somewhere else. An emergency abode, maybe an internet café or, if he couldn’t find any good ones, a convenience store with air conditioning out of pure need. Then he could at least go to the magazine corner and read some manga and no one would disturb him. Who would want to talk to someone like him who oozed of social recluse anyway? Stuck in the middle of the day wasting his time away pointlessly skimming through poorly written stories in weekly magazines. Only someone like him would do that. And he was fairly sure that everyone else had to know. That was one of the good things about being a social dropout -- people tended to leave you alone as soon as they noticed, wanting nothing to do with you.
-- “ Come Ene, we’re going out... ”
The command was met only by silence as Shintarou remembered that he was alone. Although he should have celebrated the day, when he realised she was gone from his computer, suddenly the empty room felt just a litte more empty. It was okay though. He had been alone before she showed up, and darned be if he couldn’t handle being alone again. They said that people needed to socialise or they would go mad, but Shintarou couldn’t help but think of that as bullocks. He had no one but the same two people (plus one AI) to keep him company for two years and he was perfectly fine.
Blaring music through his earbuds, the teen stuck both hands deep into the pockets of his red jersey as he dared venture out into the world around him. Just as anticipated, the warmth out here was just as unbearable, and he hadn’t even walked a few metres beore he had to stop for breath and to wipe the sweat off his forehead. Although it was probably just his mind exaggerating, he felt as bathed, and everywhere his skin felt incredibly gross. Maybe he should have taken a shower first. Oh well, not like he was going to stand up-and-down other people. And his hair wasn’t that greasy. It was fine... probably.
He didn’t get any further however, before a surprisingly strong grip took hold of the hand he had let drop to his side, and at the touch a jitter went through Shintarou’s entire body as he forcibly pulled his hand away and violently turned his head to face whoever had snuck up on him. The music in the ears drowned out all noise the small boy made, so when Shintarou’s stern glare was locked at him, heart beating rapidly from the surprise, he had absolutely no clue what was going on. Even more confused was he when two plush bunnies were held out to him.
-- “ What do you want? Go away. ”
His grunting, hoarse words sounded no better at the higher volume he unintentionally used from not being able to hear himself speak. Seriously, hadn’t this kid’s parents warned him about not walking up to suspicious strangers and talking to them as he pleased? At least teach him some common sense before letting him into the wild to disturb others. Shifting his back to the kid, he yet again burrowed his hands in his pockets, eyebrows furrowed in annoyance at having been surprised like that and loathing of the world in its entirety at this very moment, and with such a sentiment he began to walk away. Hopefully that would be the only disruption of his carefully laid out plans.

—he responded as though it was none of her beeswax, despite him proclaiming it rather loudly in a public space. it had become her business the second he opened his mouth, and she wasn’t about to let him get out of it that fast! the water mage crosses her arms and pouts, lower lip jutted out and cheeks puffed up.
“it is something juvia need’s to worry about, if a stranger mumbles something under his breath right next to her!”
the blue haired girl uncrosses her arms, raising a finger and pointing at him.
“besides, if juvia were the sick one, would you not worry?”
Juvia? Seriously, in this day and age who really used their name to refer to themself? Did she think it made her seem cuter that way or something? It was a shame; she was kind of beautiful, he had to admit that much, but the naming was just off-putting. Was she really expecting a reply to that question? Well then, he’d give her a blunt one and hopefully she’d leave him alone.
-- “ No. Not really. I don’t see why I should. ”
Admittedly his reply wasn’t entirely truthful; if someone really did suddenly feel bad right next to him, he might -- just might -- have it in his heart to at least attempt to help out. Ugh, why did he have to accidentally speak? This would have been so much easier if he’d just kept his mouth quiet and ridden the bus in silence.

04.30 - Happy Birthday, Shintaro!
*Whispers a quiet happy birthday to Shin*
@yaseiko
The thing about social anxiety was that once you actually moved outside, immediately you could feel them: the thousands of piercing glares mercilessly staring at you, drilling holes in your body, treating you like a freak of nature. That was how Shintarou felt at least. As if there was a big sign above him telling everyone of all his darkest secrets. It was okay. He could do this. He just needed to go to the bank, get his credit card sorted out and then he would be able to buy everything he ever needed safe within the walls of his home.
But where exactly was the bank in this place? And where were everyone when you needed to ask for directions? Laying eyes on a kid, Shintarou gathered all the bravery he could muster.
-- “E-e-ehm... excuse me... W-where’s the bank...?”

—she stares. the public transport she was used to, consisted entirely of trains. steam ones. she wasn’t used to this.. bus thing, but it had seemed to be just like a magic car.. only without the magic.. and public. it was easy enough to wrap her head around, she found no need to look and stare at things inside. she’s staring at the boy who sat by her side.
“… not feeling well..?” she can’t say she disagrees. she’d do anything to truly be home.
-- “ Eep! ”
Letting out such an undignified yelp upon his words, that he hadn’t even realised were spoken out loud, being responded to, Shintarou jolted in surprise and turned his head to the sound. It was the young woman beside him. To think he had made someone worry about him -- what a bother. Should he just ignore her concern? No, then she was just going to get insistent. The more you ignored a girl’s existence, the more they would force their presence upon you: he had learnt that the hard way. Gaze cast aside out the window, Shintarou’s face was indeed pale, but not from feeling motion sick.
-- “ I...it’s nothing you need to worry yourself about... ”
While Eve was out, learning and Elsword was god knows where. He didn’t really care to know where that brat was at. He was out doing some shopping for tonights dinner. Before two had left, he had asked what they wanted but of course that was out the window fast. He took Elsword’s earnings from his shop since it was his job to get money for food while Add’s job was to provide for their housing.
He had to look up on some ingredients in order to know what to exactly get and to exactly make. Well just hope the two doesn’t mind something heavy and meaty.
Add was just in the beginnings of doing his shopping when he was bumped into. He glared at the person as to who dared to not pay attention to where they were going and thought it was a good idea to bump into him. He frowned, letting his Dynamos appear, ready to reprimand the person for being foolish enough to not pay attention.
He saw how frightened the other was, he chuckled. He brought his leg up and rests the sole of his shoes on the pathetic being’s head.
❝Kahaha! Glad that you learned to apologize and beg for your life. If you hadn’t I would have to give you a lesson.❞ He made his Dynamos disappear and he moved his foot back down. ❝It would have been a shame to start another killing spree, especially since I actually like this place.❞
Had Shintarou possessed any sense of dignity, he would feel ashamed of himself for letting some stranger step on his head -- his dignity however had long been killed by Ene, and of course being isolated in his room with no one to talk to but his sister, his mother and a computer virus was bound to have negative effects as well. Not that he cared. If bowing his head in the dirt was enough to prevent him from being on the wrong end of some random yankee’s fists so be it.
That was not going to stop the thoughts though. In his mind, Shintarou was cursing this stranger and his repulsive need to live his pathetic little life picking on weaklings. Weaklings like himself. In fact, wasn’t Shintarou the more pathetic of the two? A NEET, a hikikomori, a virgin, a high school dropout, a loser of society who had neither job, status nor girlfriend. Who spent every day sitting in front of a screen complaining about the horrible quality of this season’s anime to people like him with no life who couldn’t care less about who he was and whether he even existed. Maybe it would be better to get some yankee to do him the favour after all -- then at least he would have a more meaningful ending. But instead...
-- “ Eh? Y...you’re going to let me go? Just like that? ”
Could Shintarou hear his own voice as it sounded to others he would have wanted to dig the deepest possible hole and crawl into it. It was hoarse and gross, a result of only speaking the bare minimum for the past two years, a voice he would not wish to acknowledge as belonging to him. Relief however filled him; he wasn’t sure how much he appreciated the thought of this ‘killing spree’, but to get off without getting hurt seemed like a miracle at this point.
Rising from the ground, Shintarou dusted off the dirt on his knees, and let out a relieved sigh.
