NO BUT YOUNG DEAN FANBOYING OVER JAMES DEAN AND BEING OVERLY HAPPY ABOUT THE FACT THAT HIS OWN NAME IS DEAN BECAUSE ITS THE SAME AS JAMES DEAN'S LAST NAME

i will never think of anything else when watching the scene of dean's eyes when he's in hell (in the very beginning of 4x01) after reading about how the flashes of light are probably castiel fighting his way to dean.

when dean says "now you might be able to forget about that, but I can't!" - referring to cas's death - he's literally saying that cas's death is haunting him. he's saying that he can't stop thinking about it. dean watched cas die right in front of him, and he's just constantly replaying that in his mind. he can't forget. he's always thinking about it bc he can't stop feeling cas's absence. it keeps him up at night. he tries to distract himself, take his mind off it, but everything he does is just a constant reminder that something is missing. that cas is missing. that he's missing cas.

yk what would've been a great scene? if dean (slightly unconscious or paralyzed or something) is for some reason being dragged down into like a deep body of water and then cas dives in with no hesitation and immediately pulls dean out (cas is like bear hugging dean from behind) and it's just an amazing underwater parallel to cas gripping dean tight and raising him from hell
