Nubians… Why?

Part I

Why does the majority of black women feel like their Nubian features are inferior? They don’t wear their hair natural because they have been programmed to think their hair is nappy and is not considered “good hair”! Constantly placing weave with a different texture, that you would like to believe that is better than your original hair grade.

Your features are not inferior, the only reason you feel this way is because your ancestors were told that theirs were. Unfortunately, generation after generation after generation, we’ve constantly been shaming our given features by God.

What is “good hair”? Who told you that your hair is nappy? You don’t have to take a wild guess. Your hair is not nappy, it’s lovely, flamboyant, has volume, curly, and has a distinct shape like no other grade of hair! 

Why place weave in your hair? Spending 100′s of dollars on hair that is temporary to cover you current insecurities. These hair salons packed with weave, have targeted our community due to the fact that they know our women yearn for a different grade of hair! The funny thing is that the majority of the time the owner is not a familiar face—and also doesn’t care about our struggles, putting money in our community, but only to capitalize!

Part II

Why do fascinate about the beauty of being mixed? Fascinate about having mixed children? Fascinate about Eurocentric beauty in general?

Does being mixed by 1-2% of this or that matter so much? No. I can’t tell you many times I hear black people try to give an account of every little small mix of themselves to try to validate they are not full negro. If someone was trying to describe you to the police, they wouldn’t say “I think it was a Black man, that was German, Indian, and a little bit of Irish!”

I’ve seen countless of posts (I’m pretty sure you have too) saying “OMG mixed babies are the best”, “I want a mixed baby” etc. Really? So none of the babies that are not mixed, or are not noticeably mixed are not beautiful as well? 

Both point 1 & 2 will give you insight on my last point in Part II. When I say Eurocentric beauty I mean: Comparing your features to the features that you believe are standards for beauty displayed in the media, and/or social network—that are contrast to every other race besides the white race. Examples: Black people with “pretty eyes”, meaning any other color besides dark brown. Having so-called “manageable hair” also known as “pretty hair”. The long-lasting trend within the black race that light skins/mixed girls are way more attractive. STOP IT!

Part III

The truth about our beauty and culture? What we also need to fix? How we fix our people’s problems in this day in time?

Our beauty and culture has been and is being copied and marketed without any credit given to us every day. Don’t believe me? Look at the commercials—have you noticed the increase of hip hop being played? Look at how so many young and older people of different races and cultures emulating our dances for monetary, popularity, and for a sense of coolness. Look at the hairstyles, the plastic surgery being done to emulate the curves and aesthetics of a Nubian’s Queen Body! The cultural appropriation being done by Iggy who is from Australia and speaks with an Australian accent, but suddenly has a southern black girl accent for monetary gain! Miley who was a pop/country singer “twerks” when it has been around since — I don’t even think I have to explain (inside giggle)! Meghan Trainor brings booty back, when “booty” has been the pinnacle of our beauty since the dawn of time! Katy Perry and even Taylor Swift have even used black bodies or props of curves to “ghetto-fy” their video. Kendall rocks braids and she is somehow a trendsetter, when Alicia Keys been wearing braids and other countless of Nubian Queens have! Cat Jenner is beautiful, but Serena is too masculine! Funny how it works. I can even go back to Rock & Roll. The usage of words like fleek, bae, ratchet, etc. All these businesses on social media networks using our verbiage and music to market! Why put money into their businesses when they don’t speak up for struggles, put money in our community?

We have to stop calling our black women derogatory names especially “hoes, thots, and bitch”. Why get mad when other races view our women (your mother, daughter, and sister) as hoe’s or a lower-class of women when our black men do? This goes for our women too! Don’t classify yourself as a “bad bitch” even if the phrase is popularized. Why not display yourself in your true positions as a Nubian Queen!? Stop trying to be “gutta” bitches, show that you have intellect(which will weed out 90% of the dogs away), paint a different picture out there for our black Queens! Remember if you have a daughter she is watching and will imitate you! Treat yourself like a Queen BECAUSE YOU ARE ONE!

To be honest, in this day and age I think it is up to our women! For some odd reason I women do not get as comfortable as our men do in low-quality ghetto living areas. In all honesty that entrance that our Queens have between their legs—is the most POWERFUL stuff on earth. When our women start raising their standards, the men will learn to step up! Examples (which are real examples, but shows how much we need to change): When our younger & even some of our older  females claim that they love dread heads, “hood” niggas, a “nigga” that love to keep jays on his feet. Our lost Kings will go out of their way to make sure they have every one of those areas covered to ensure he is hot prospect! We have to come together and support black businesses, stop killing, robbing each other, and being in competition. 

- I know went a little off topic in my last point, however, I will be making a post for our Kings(which is greatly needed), and another touching topic for my Afro-Latinos(Black in Latin America).
