I've been told most of my life that I'm too outspoken, loud, and political. But what else do you want me to be? How can you expect me to be less political when my entire identity - my soul - is inherently political?

How dare you tell me to stop speaking out about injustices, not just in the world but in my communities? How dare you tell me to quiet down when I have known the boot that has and will sit on my neck for the rest of my life? How dare you tell me to be "less political" when I know that I will always have to fight 2x hard as the rest? Or when I know that others will have to fight 4x or 8x harder than the rest?
