A lot of the descriptions of ISFP’s make them seem like they’re art nerds and that all they do is paint and draw. I’m not sure if it’s because of a lack of understanding or what, but I’m getting a little tired of it.

I do agree that we love ‘art’, but it’s not as direct as everyone thinks of it We don’t just like art, we love beauty Think of it like this

- The beauty in nature and animals - The beauty in people’s minds [and their faces] - The beauty in, yes, paintings and drawings and photography [and so forth] - The beauty in fashion and clothes - The beauty in colours, or the lack of colours - The beauty in a piece of writing - The beauty in emotions and people connecting - The beauty in culture - The beauty in expression  - The beauty in creativity - The beauty in music - The beauty in entertainment

Maybe this is just me, but that’s what I think when I think of ISFP’s We appreciate emotions and what we believe is both aesthetic and emotionally stimulating - it’s not JUST art [though it quite commonly can be]

all a person has to do to appreciate beauty is to be exposed to it and notice it. that is an automatic process. there are a variety of motives for creating art/writing/music/whatever else and not all of them are Fi-based, but very rarely does someone just get a good creative idea and then invest hours and hours into bringing it to fruition simply for the heck of it. they must deem the content and impact of their creation as significant enough to justify the time and effort they put into it. stereotypically, a Fi-dominant, Te-inferior type is more likely to invest a lot of time into a non-productive activity that is simply for purposes of self-expression, self-exploration, or emotional self-soothing.

On average, D and I types tend to be slightly more people oriented than S and C types. You generally like to help people, or at least serve a an inspiration if it’s not interacting with them directly. People with a strong I quadrant like interacting with people, although - depending on the strength of other quadrants - mostly on terms that fit their personality.
