I just wish I could make an “I love you” sound as cool as one of those alternative-rock bands or a “love of my life” as honest as the Front Bottoms, I wish my confessions would feel as deep as those of that poetry slammer with the broken voice in the backyard of the art house in my city and the tone of me poems as parenthitically as an Arctic Monkeys song.
