Surprise was the first kind of expression that took over his features, eyes widening and cheeks gaining a tint of pink after he was able to comprehend what had just happened. Amusement was next, but the chuckles, rather nervous ones, came only after he blinked slowly a couple of times. Accompanying the nervous laughter was the lowering of his head and the trembling of his shoulders and his heart was slowly swelling with adorations towards the female. It took him another minute to regain composure, what were they even talking about before she interrupted him with that innocent kiss to his nose that had stirred him to the core? What did it even mattered now? His head lifted once again, having regained control over his features, thus his expression was neutral, letting it linger as his hand reached over and cupped at one of her cheeks as he leant in closer “You missed…” He whispered, eyelids hooding his eyes as he looked down at her lips, which were soon kissed by his, shortly and sweetly just like the one she had delivered to his nose a moment ago. “That’s better.”

Had they ever being affectionate with each other? In all honestly, he couldn’t really remember. Their friendship had always being a endless string of teasing and bickering at each other, but all in good fun. They both knew how much they really cared and cherished each other, they just kept it buried deep inside within themselves. But after all that time apart, he shouldn’t have really being surprised by the female being just a tad more affectionate than usual, it wasn’t even a big of a deal, just a kiss on the nose that had taken him by surprise, hence why he had stood there, frozen on his spot aside from his eyelids that kept on blinking non stopping for another short moment. “Aw, you’re being cute to me? You must have really missed me” He mocked, a wide grin spreading across his lips and his shoulders lightly trembled as he tried to conceal the chuckles the best he could. But truth he told, he had missed her too, and his mocking expression was soon to dissolve, instead he leant over and returned the kiss, not on her nose, but on her cheek. “I missed you too.”

Being a single parent for three years has make him a complete light sleeper by now, which is why his eyes shoot open when his phone begins to ring in the middle of the night. He’s a little disoriented at first, fingers rubbing at his whose eyelids had fell closed once again as his other hand patted through his nightstand in search for his phone. “Hello? Who is it?” His voice is groggy, thus he’s soon to clear his throat, eyebrows dipped in a frown with his fingers still pressed against his eyes, not quite catching the sudden rambling that reaches his ears from the other side of the line as his mind is pretty much still asleep, hence why he attempts to have a look at the name on his phone’s screen, the brightness of it being too much for his tired eyes that squeeze shut once again, but he had managed to catch a glimpse of the female’s name “Ri? Wait—What? I’m not understanding you…” He’s soon to sit up on the bed, head tilting back to be able to have a look at the clock hanging on his bedroom’s wall. “What’s going on? What are you calling me at this hour? Are you alright?”

This was absolutely a first in his entire life. Sure he had given his fair share of roses to people before, love interests and even friends alike, but never, never had he ever received one. Thing that was very well noticeable by the surprised expression that had his eyebrows arched, hidden under the tips of his fringe while his lips gapped open, gaze flickering between the rose he was now holding between his fingers and to the male in front of him, almost feeling sure that it was audible how the cogwheels in his mind where trying to make sense of the situation. “I uh-– This is… Interesting, thank you?” Even though his lips spread to form a smile, a rather nervous chuckle spilt from his lips. “Can i ask to what do i owe this for, though? Do you want me to hold it for you?”

His shoulders shrugged as soon as her voice reached his ears, it hadn’t being his intention to run off when they were admiring a display on one of the store’s windows down the street, but Sanghye had gotten lose of his hold and sprinted after a dog that had just walk past them, so he, of course, had rushed behind her, but seeing how amused she was by the furry animal, he had allowed her to follow him for a little longer. But by the time he had picked up the toddler and made his way back to the last store he saw the female at, the later was already long gone. His second move (the first one had being glancing around and calling for the female) was to take out his phone in an attempt to call her, but of course luck wasn’t on his side as the device’s battery had run out, thus he had engaged in a small search around the stores while both him and his daughter called for the female, until she was found not that far away from where they were. “Is Sanghye’s fault” He quickly threw the blame on the little girl he was holding against his shoulder. “She ran off, I went to get her back, I’m sorry.” He flashed an apologetic smile before putting the girl down, making sure to hold her hand properly this time. “Where was it that you wanted us to go?”

They were short on staff, the restaurant was at full capacity with a waiting line, and to top it all, there was now running around the rumor that an idol was having dinner at the restaurant a that very moment. The rumor confirmed by him personally by him not long after, when he had to leave the kitchen and help the waiters to tend the tables. Truth be told, he didn’t really knew the male idol, his face seemed vaguely familiar, he for sure had seen his picture somewhere before, but he wasn’t deep into the reigning pop culture. However his encounters with the male escalated from delivering his entrees and drinks to fully-on accidentally drop a plate of food over his lap, when in his rush he had bumped with another costumer. The idol seemed composed about the incident, but still he couldn’t help but on continuing apologizing. “I’ll really, truly terribly sorry, Sir.” It was possibly the fifth time he had apologized and bowed to the youngster. “If you come with me to the kitchen, perhaps we can help you clean up a bit” He offered, it was the least we could do, perhaps on the meantime he would be able to send someone to the nearest store to get the idol a new pair of pants.

At first he stared at her blankly, taking him perhaps a second too long to comprehend the meaning of her words. He had being truly worried when he asked her just the moment prior of there was something that was troubling her, since she was looking pretty distressed, thus when it finally sunk on her mind what was the real reason behind her gloominess, he couldn’t help but let out a rather loud sigh “Yah—“ He pushed halfheartedly at her shoulder. “I thought something really bad had happened to you! Why do you scare me like this, really…” He grumbled, head dropping and shaking as he felt the knot of worry that had formed in the pit of his stomach, slowly loosening with the relief that there wasn’t anything really troubling her. “I’m too old for this—“

“I—“ He gets interrupted mid sentence by the female, but he doesn’t really minds, if anything, it only makes a string of chuckles fall from his lips, ones that he tries to conceal behind his palm as his hand is smacked against his lips, still, the trembling of his shoulders give his amusement away. Is silly, really, as indeed they both had gotten scared on their last trip to the supermarket, a practical joke of getting jumped at the end of an aisle by bored employees, and being a late night shift at a 24/7 market, who could really blame the employees for wanting to have a bit of fun? No one was harmed and they both had had a laugh afterwards. “Yeah I did got startled, I’m not denying that.” A wide grin has his lips spreading over his face as he talks. “But c’mon, you gotta admit that it was really funny the way you jumped and clung to that bag of bread” Another chuckle is spilt, although he quickly tries to hide it behind a fake cough.
