His heart did a backflip, fireworks exploding in his soul. So caught up in the moment was he that, when she fully agreed to his request, he did an actual backflip. He was ecstatic, and he didn’t care if it showed now.

“Yeah, it’s about a quarter mile from where I first crossed paths with you guys. Outdoor seating, a nice view and, the reason we’re heading out at this time of night today? There’s a group of three street musicians that meet up in the little plaza that it’s on the corner of and they play music for the people to enjoy.”

A small laugh and a grin, following at a reasonable pace as he explained why they were going now -- street performers? Oh, she hadn’t known they were there. Of course, she typically went to the restaurant during the day, and preferably indoors. Weiss laced her fingers behind her, humming softly. 

“That sounds...” What was the term she was looking for? Lovely wasn’t quite right, nor was romantic... “Amazing, actually. I wish I knew about it before.” She also wished it was common in Atlas -- ah, but she wasn’t in Atlas anymore. She was across the world far away from the snowy tundras of Solitas, and...

And she was happy. 

Mercury wasn’t much into gossip usually, but the Schnee family had so much history and so much dirt, it was hard not to be fascinated. The common knowledge things, he’d picked up on back in Mistral. Faunus labor bordering on slavery, questionable business practices, collapsing mines and workers left to die. Fucked up stuff. When it came to things as personal as disappearing family members, however–and spouses who didn’t notice for three days–that was news.

“How do you not notice your wife bein’ gone for three days?”

Scratch that. Like he knew anything about marriage, anyway.

“I’ll see what I can pick up. What d'you want?”

Now that it was safe to move he adjusted in his seat to watch her. If he was her, he’d have knocked his ass out while he was too trashed to do anything about it. Sucks for her, that she didn’t.

She didn’t know the specifics, just knew that one day, she disappeared. It had been terrifying to think that Jacques wouldn’t search for his own sister, but, when did he ever feel something? Weiss held up the book she had been reading, “The next one in this series, if you can find it.” It was best to stay in light topics. 

Besides, if she had tried to run, she was certain the guards at the door would’ve stopped her before she got too far. 

No, she needed time and patience. Wearing someone down was how anyone made it through the judicial system. 

@ultravioletvoleur​ --  Sun swings past her window, poking in to give her a mischievous wink. "I love you, Ice Queen." Then, poof- his clone is gone, vanished into specks of golden Aura that dissipate through the air.

A blink at such a statement, well-- of... of course he did? Why did he have to say it like that? A frown as the clone dissipated, and though the sun was arm and the breeze was cool; Weiss felt a shiver. 

Don’t think of it, Weiss. It’s just him playing his tricks. She reasoned with herself, though she instinctively tugged the jacket so she could get warmer. 

Just playing tricks. 

“Take it Schnee-sy, Weiss-o serious?”

“Fiiiiine. If I die, you’ll never get my smooches. Happy?”

SIGH.

“Harsh. If I die, you’ll never get my nanners.”

“Oh! Your rebuke is as an icy dagger to mine heart, milady. I fear I may fall from this windowsill that so precariously doth hold mine life in it’s balance.”

“...”

“Why, my darling Ice Queen, I assure you i have no Remnantly idea what you’re referring to.”

He’s going to place a banana peel on the counter- close enough to the trash can that it’s clear he could have put it in there, he just chose not to.

“...” There were some hills to die on. This was not one of them.
