Yet, in a twist of fate, the version of me from months past, in a quest for stability, had purged you from memory β erasing all avenues of contact, even obliterating the once-familiar number ingrained in my mind for over a decade and a half.
A defeated sigh escaped me as I wrestled with the realization that the solace I sought was beyond my grasp. Taking solace in the mundane, I bit into my bacon and sausage flatbread, finding fleeting comfort. Eventually, I chose to drive home, the victory of the day accompanied by the bittersweet awareness that I had thought of you, yearned for you, and yet, I deliberately refrained from reaching out.
