Maybe the only comforting thing about the sky now is that maybe wherever you are, we might be looking at the same stars. I just hope they guide you back home. 

It worked when I was younger. I could genuinely look at the stars and feel comforted, feel all my problems wash away as quickly as they formed. Now even on the brightest nights, I feel like I’m looking at an empty sky. I don’t feel so guided, I feel more lost than ever.

When you look up, they glisten and shimmer, acting like beacons of hope for the lost and tormented souls of this world. How beautiful is that; the idea that the universe is rooting for you, protecting you from trillions of miles away. How beautiful is it that no matter how horrible and dire the human world can be, the sun will still rise and still set, and the beauty of the universe will always remain. How beautiful is it that something so ordinary can prove to be so extraordinary once you choose to view them. 

When I was a child and feeling overwhelmed, my mother used to tell me to look to the stars because they will always guide you home. At times of insecurity, anxiety and fear, when you feel like your world is crashing down and like nothing makes sense, just look up at the night sky and comprehend how minuscule everything is in the grand scheme of things.
