Post-postapocalypse. The green has arrived.

The Oxalis Acetosella are blooming. The plant has soooo many names in Finnish — the two most popular ones are fox bread and cuckoo's cabbage; and there are older, no longer used names, too, such as rabbit's cabbage. The plant is entirely edible, and picking them falls under the Everyone's Rights law collection, which allows the picking of wild berries etc. even on privately owned land. So if you come across these heart-shaped, light green leaves while wandering the Finnish forests, give it a try.

I feel very drawn to tree stumps nowadays, especially when they are full of growing things.

The tree has stood here, years and years galore, witnessing the bubbling stream that renews itself in every passing moment. There is a touch of eternity in each of the two, the like that we cannot dream to reach.

The rain finally arrives, even if it is once again mostly sleet. And so I breathe in the scent, the humid and the white - the day has a smell of fresh washing. It is clean and sparkling in the morning sun.

I've recently had many obstacles fall on my paths, but I'm slowly getting over them all. Sometimes the journey is awful, but the destination, once reached, makes up for all the hardships endured. Having a forest along the way helps a lot, too.

We, the young saplings, should remember that we often grow in the footsteps of giants - and that they are what nourishes us.

(I should maybe explain that in Finnish there is an expression, taivaanrannanmaalari, which translates directly as sky shore painter - it is used to describe a person who dreams of (often impossible or improbable) things for their future. It is also a very lovely three-word conjoined word, which are very typical in Finnish.)
