If you have dexterity issues, let me introduce you to one of my all time favorite tools: The Speedy Stitcher (~30USD for the deluxe kit, with knock offs being cheaper and often just as good or better) https://www.speedystitcher.com/ Nominally used for saddles and other leather goods and heavy canvas, it will *absolutely* work for any small repair you need. The bigger handle helps *IMMENSELY* if you've got shakey hands like I do, lower grip strength, or insensitivity/pain in fingertips. I do recommend running heavier thread (or even the cheapest dental floss you can get which works *awesome*) to prevent thread breakage. But yeah. You want to sew anything up to and including actual saddlery, but have issues with straight needle and thread? Speedy Stitcher.
