Taurus can be extremely judgmental, not necessarily in the sense that they stereotype other people on first glance or go through life making decisions entirely based on bias – though that can be common. Rather, the preconceived notions Taurus constructs are incredibly sensible and instinctive, rooted deeply in their values and the way they palpably experience the world. Every color, sound, shape, and sensation pulses through them, so they often have very strong reactions to things. When something is ugly, they feel ugly; it’s a sensation, mental receptivity resulting in physical responses. Their opinion is often instantaneous and unlikely to change; the way they feel about something upon first encounter shapes their psyche around that thing, whatever it may be. Their tastes are well-defined and their standards are high. Maybe they have very particular ideas about the way food should look, feel, and taste, and everything else seems rudimentary; maybe they perceive a type of energy in art & music that determines their whole experience of the piece; maybe they have strict rules about fashion because when the texture is off, their whole reality itches. It can manifest in many different ways, and it is seldom meant to offend others – it’s just the way they feel, the way that the world affects their mind.
When a Taurus is offensively judgmental, as in biased and bigoted or rude about their preferences, it is often connected to the way they were treated as children. Taurus (moons especially) are exposed early on to a wide range of very rigid opinions, projected onto them by adults. Nearly everyone around them makes assumptions about who they are based on the way they look or the circumstance they’re in. These assumptions can be major – enveloping their whole identity – or they can be minor, attacking their role in a certain situation, presuming faults and follies where Taurus is unable to defend themselves.
