Born Joseph Abojei on 14th of May, 1992; BLESSED BOY is a versatile Afrobeat/HipPop artiste who has grown to understand the fine blend between the African sounds and the other popular genres across the world. Started music in 2005 before he left the shores of Africa and has since then done well for himself. His taste in music is so rich and indigenous; so much he listens to old South African tunes while adding Craig David, Shaggy, Omarion, 2face, Chaka demus, Joe,Wizkid, to the mix; but even at that, he does not believe in the concept of having a role model; he prefers to feed off his own energy and learn from his mistakes. The Deltan who grew and schooled in Ogun state, before moving to United States where he has lived till now, is passionate about his people back home. Despite living oversee, the love for Nigeria and the Culture keep bringing him back to his root, which is why his love for Afrobeat can not be taken lightly. He is a firm believer that he can through his music unify Nigeria and Africa. He speaks Yoruba, Hausa and Igbo fluently; he also understands and respect each tribes’ cultural biases and differences which he believes is his cutting edge, for this will give him the upper hand to communicate better to each tribe with his music. He is a jovial and a playful person who knows what he wants and will stop at nothing until he achieves his aim. He believes you need to pray to GOD, work hard, learn from your mistake and then go again, if you must achieve your goals. He runs his own label, BLESSED BOY EMPIRE and has done well for himself by headlining two self-organized shows in New York: one culture in August 28, 2021 and Nigerian Independence in oct 2, 2021; both which did about 1500 attendees each. His hobbies include creating music, shopping for ladies, cruising from city to city.
