While watching The Profit with Marcus Lemonis about a cheese shop in New York City, my good friend Tyson, owner of Mars Cheese Castle in Kenosha, came on screen, much to my delight. I had the distinct luxury of hanging with my friend and Green Bay hall-of-fame kicker Chester Marcol for his 70th birthday. We had two in events around that time and on the day of if Fond du Lac, he wanted to see Jeff Kahlow’s private zoo. Knowing it was Chester’s birthday, Jeff bought him a cake and had some fun with it.

After that, we headed to our show in Plymouth at Generations. Unbeknown to us, they too had a birthday surprise for Chester with another cake to boot. It was great to see such a friendly outpouring towards Chester for his 70th birthday, and I was proud to be a part of it.

So sad at the passing of the legendary Bart Starr. He was inspiring to me when I met him as a kid (as I express enthusiastically in the film), and I was happy to have met him again while filming the documentary. I even had the pleasure of exchanging emails with him after that. These photos are but a few of the great memories I have of one of the most honorable and outstanding persons I have ever had the honor to know, if only ever so briefly.

He has since said that it was one of his favorite events with me as the audience was incredibly enthusiastic and well informed about Packers history. I’ll let the photos do the talking, though I do love the Bob’s Big Boy statue as it reminds me of my days in Los Angeles.

Great to see LeRoy Butler, the founder of the Lambeau Leap, at the Barron High School for a homecoming pep rally and inspirational talk. I just happened to be in the area when he was there, so I stopped in and gave him a copy of the Cheeseheads DVD. In return, he gave me a big hug. What a great guy and a terrific moment.
