      rare      were      the      mornings      awakened      in         solitude ,        a   walled   moment   of   serenity   allowing   mind   to   move   upon   last   few   hints   of   slumber :        for   primitive   habits   would   usually   set   eternal   to   an   early   rise ,        following   path   carved   under   responsibilities    whilst   allowing   sporadic   company   to   enjoy   a   longer   moment   to   rest         ―        yet   there ,        somnolent   gaze   hovered   now   empty   spot   by   his   side .        senses   dwelled   in   pleasant   drowsiness   for   a   while   longer ,        holding   to   the     instinct   to   get   up   only   when   scenic   fuss   reached   perception     to   lead   towards   obvious   conclusion :        iara   was   in   the   kitchen ,       risking   not   just   her  own  integrity ,        but   the   entire   cottage .

the   chance   to   interfere ,       however ,      never   stood   within   grasp       ―        for   the   second   druig   tried   to   get   out   of   bed ,         other   eternal     made   her   way   back   to   the   bedroom :        carrying   a   tray   loaded   with   sorted   types   of    food    &    a   few    things   to   hold     nothing   but   brief   resemblace     to   what   was   once   edible .

attention   broke   between   her   and   the   breakfast   now   served ,       a   subtle   smile   soon   to     paint   features   with   amusement  :        for   intention   was   better   than   anything   else .        right   hand   then   moved   upwards ,        enough   to   gently   cup   iara’s   face   before    his   lips   met   hers  .               ❛    obrigado .    ❜               voice   moved   against   her   skin ,        undisturbedly   against   easy   moment   to   be   shared .               ❛    mas   da   próxima   vez  …         you   can   let   me   do   all   that ,        hm ?!    ❜

deliberate   choice   of   rising   up   earlier   had   been   planned   days   before,   as   have   what   followed.   the   only   way   to   successfully   surprise   the   other   eternal   and   leave   time   for   mildly   screwing   up   meant   iara   had   to   wake   up   from   slumber   before   the   sun   could   even   rise   up   in   the   sky.   besides   her   best   efforts,   however,   only   half   of   the   meal   was   salvageable.   the   half   that   did   not   require   any   culinary   use   of   the   oven,   that   is.   that   still   left   them   with   an   array   of   fruits   and   few   sandwiches,   juice   and   thankfully   his   precious   coffee.   

it  was  late  in  the  night,  temperature  cold  outside  and  the  stars  being  the  only  source  of  light.  she  sat  beside  vidya,  had  found  her  already  out  when  her  own  sleep  got  interrupted.  iara  had  a  terrible  sleeping  schedule,  after  years  and  years,  days  sometimes  blended  with  the  night  and  she'd  end  up  wide  awake  hours  before  she  needed  to.    “  bad  dream?  ”    she  had  asked,  as  she  took  the  spot  next  to  her.  she  seemed  troubled,  her  eyes  cloudy  with  worry  like  they  usually  get  after  a  bad  vision.  or  perhaps  it  had  been  a  bad  memory.  either  way,  maybe  talking  about  it  could  help  vidya's  heavy  heart.

there  was  was  laughter  in  the  air,  some  drunk  men  played  music  half  decently  in  the  background.  it  was  another  celebration  of  another  well  job  done.  iara  herself  had  partaken  in  a  fair  share  of  dances  already,  enchanting  the  people  around  with  her  beauty  and  carefree  aura.  she  had  left  the  circle  of  dancing  maidens  now,  though,  sipping  into  some  ale  a  bit  distanced  from  everyone  else.  she  almost  hadn't  noticed  the  other  approach,  but  smiled  once  she  did.  druig  had  complimented  her,  for  both  earlier  battle  and  dance.  iara  noticed  he  was  being  more  charming  than  usual,  standing  a  bit  too  close  as  he  sweet  talked  away  and  that  made  her  chuckle.    “  don't  start  something  you  don't  intend  to  see  it  through,  druig.  ”    she  said,  both  warning  and  dare.  warning  of  where  this  could  lead,  daring  him  to  proceed  anyway.    she  wanted  him  to  dare,  had  so  for  a  while  now,  but  they  were  so  preoccupied  with  their  mission  that  it  left  little  space  to  explore  where  this  could  lead.
