Thanks so much thats so sweet!!! Tbh vegas waited so long because he was enjoying the fact that it was going so badly for pete before he'd arrived. Kinda hard to feel jealous when pete exposed the affect his attraction to vegas has vs attraction with other ppl. Vegas was practically preening after that because as far as he's concerned thats confirmation he has pete locked down. And then even better he got another chance and then pete actually verbally confirmed he and vegas were together. Plus vegas got to beat someone up for being bad at sex with pete/ not clocking that pete wasnt very into it. Big win for everybody in the messiest way possible!

Hi anon, good question! Tbh i dont think its a matter of handling emotions better- vegas is just better at expressing his emotions. Pete, in total opposite fashion functions on the idea of being a survivalist- i.e if im not literally on fire then I guess nothing is wrong. That's not to say he's not feeling things. He just always balancing it up against life or death so of course that makes it easy to dismiss his emotions or think his way out of it to lessen its importance and impact. Pete might not be expressive of his emotions in the same way as vegas but that doesn't necessarily mean that he isn't showing his feelings some way or other. Tbh I 100% disagree with you on pete only showing vegas his anger. There have been many scenes where hes shown affection, care, tenderness and concern for vegas even if he isnt directly revealing or talking about it in explicit terms. Vegas is actively searching for these kind of feelings too which is why he's reading into every act pete takes- he knows that pete struggles to discuss emotion but shows his feelings in a different more physical way.

Of course he hasn't had enough time to process the fic is occurring in real time and only a month or so has passed. It wouldnt make sense for everything to reach that point yet. And if the fic was about pete getting to a perfect self actualised state where he's confronted all his demons and trauma then the fic would literally never end. Its going to take years and years for pete to even begin to come to terms with any of this. The point of the fic I guess is to leave the audience feeling hopeful that they're both going in the right direction for it. But tbh this latest update for their relafionship where pete has agreed to be exclusive with vegas- all it means is simply that, that pete has agreed to be in a relationship and he wants to protect it by establishing boundaries with vegas and also reassure vegas that hes serious. Anything intepretation beyond that is honestly reading into a little. Like he hasn't forgiven vegas, he hasn't fully processed all his trauma, and he's certainly still not perfectly dealing with his feelings or communicating well. A lot of the situation hasn't changed that much. All pete has established verbally is that he's willing to commit- but we already knew that he was committed and devoted to vegas. The key difference is that instead of expressing it through action- he spoke it out loud (whilst also confirming it through the physical act of sex too).
