something about anorexia is that it is basically an addiction. the addiction is to the sensation of "progress" about losing weight. and just like any addict, if you try to take away their drug of choice before they've truly accepted that they need help, theyre going to fight you about it. theyre going to say that you're trying to control their life, theyre going to paint you as critical and mean and theyre the victim who's just trying to live life their own way. thats exaclty what ariana has done with her new music video. her "critics" are stereotyped as a panel of ugly older men with exaggerated prosthetics: bulbous noses, wrinkly chins, neanderthal brows, all saying that she's inauthentic and that they liked the old version of her, or just outright insulting her. then she slaughters them all with a chainsaw. im serious.
