Most Adoptable Grown Man Contest - Round 5, Poll 16
Which grown man is more adoptable?
Alexander Jeremy - Comedian (Shoot from the Hip)
Gerard Keay - The Magnus Archives
Aaand now we have a matchup between two submissions who I never would have guessed would get this far but am happy to see that they did (even if I really should have guessed a TMA character would do well given what website this is...tho Jon lost last round while Martin is still in so what do I know)
AJ PROPAGANDA !!!because i'm intimidated by the might and will of the tma fandom to protect their children.
especially him as monty😭
look at him. look at his face. tell me you wouldn't adopt that grown man.
Let me add to the propaganda
Look at the PEAK of FEMINISM.
Look at him!

When Sandra falls asleep on this frigid night she's expecting a nightmare to plague her mind, as they have all week since the move.
But what she doesn't expect is to see the maze again with such vivid detail and sensations. She takes a step back from the entrance, a pit of dread forming in her stomach as the expanse of the maze stretches high above her head, looking and oppressive. "This...this isn't like normal..." Sandra whispers to herself, feeling her hands start to shake.
*Winthrop's voice booms around her* You're back, and I don't think you can escape this time. *a cup of earl grey tea sits, cold on a nearby table*
The moment the voice speaks, a wave of icy terror runs over her skin out of recognition. "No...No!" She gasps, spying the table and the tea. Shaking her head the woman backs away from the table, pushing her wire-framed glasses higher on her face.
"This is a trick! I'm just dreaming, there's no way I'm actually back! Not with you!"
I already have your son in the maze, why don't you try to save him? Suffering is the universal human condition and you have suffered. *there is a moment* Yes, Winthorpe, she is back.
"You're a twisted liar and a trickster, my son is perfectly alright!" Sandra snaps, reacting more out of fear for Arthur than for herself. While both of them had been through this, she had spent a lot more time with Winthrop than Arthur ever had. "I have no need to endure more suffering, I've already been through too much in my lifetime-"
Her words cut off as the being's words sink in, and the only way her body reacts is to turn away and squeeze her eyes shut, putting a hand to her mouth to fight down whatever pained sound that threatens to choke from her mouth. Not him. She can't face him again. She'd rather face Winthrop again face to face.
Do you have the tea? We will play a game. *he walks towards her, two sets of footsteps echoing in the halls*
A defiant, horrified laugh escapes her chest unwillingly. "I-I don't want to touch that blasted teacup ever again!" She scowls, refusing to look down the hallway as she keeps backing up.
"I'm just dreaming, I-I know I'm just dreaming! Ugh wake up Sandra, please-"
Pick up the cup. Or if not Winthorpe can get you something warmer. *he moves into her field of view*
The moment he comes into view, Sandra's face pales and she finds herself unable to move, completely frozen in horror at the sight of the source of her nightmares.
Why, why was this happening again?! She'd only barely been keeping her head above water since they'd moved.
"F-Fuck you-" She chokes, her eyes pricking with heat and breathing taking on an uneasy, stuttering pace. "I don't...I don't want to do this again. I don't want anything to do with this! You had your trickery fun last time, let me go..."
I said I wanted you to be here for eternity, now you can be. You will remember and hear my voice forever. *Winthorpe takes a sip of his tea out of a godzilla cup* He agrees, do you?
"No I-" Sandra looks away when Henry Winthorpe steps into view as well, the shaking in her hands spreading to the rest of her as all her grief from when he went missing hits her like a truck. Her legs go weak, and the woman doesn't realise that she's sat on a chair until her knees buckle and her gaze falls onto a small circle table that's also appeared from thin air.
"I-I don't agree. Please, don't have him here. Henry...my Henry."
Her gaze falls on the table and stays there, trying not to look at the man who used to be her husband so she doesn't break down.
You mean Winthorpe, he's mine, not yours. Now you say a statement.
"He's. Mine." The tone of her voice is a borderline snarl, tears brimming in her eyes. "That's my fucking statement."
*Winthorpe takes a sip, Winthrop doesn't* Well, well, well.
The sound of only one person sipping tea makes her lips curl into a watery smile, and she risks glancing up from the table. Sandra's tears only fall when she finds Henry looking directly at her, unconsciously fidgeting with the pearl bracelet on her wrist. The one he gave her so long ago.
"And if he's mine, then he-he goes where I goes. Which means when I leave, and I WILL leave, Henry fucking comes with me. That's final."
*neither of them drink* He loves you, but not enough to escape with you.
"...Right."
The faint flicker of hope in her eyes is extinguished before it even fully forms, and Sandra looks down at the table again, unable to meet Henry's eyes as she clenches her jaw. Her hand comes up to wipe her eyes, pushing against her glasses.
"He's still mine though. Still...still mine." Sandra's voice quietens, but still carries a layer of defiance. "You can't take that from me at least."
But you know who I can take-
Ahhhhhhh. MUMMY HELP ME! *his young screams echo around the room*
Your son. *the screaming quiets*
Sandra's face goes white.
"ARTHUR!" The chair clatters backwards as she shoots to her feet, sending a panicked, desperate look to Winthrop.
"Don't you fucking touch my son, you wretched thing!" Sandra snarls, her eyes flicking to Henry for a second.
He's already in the maze. Are you going to save him?

"F-Fuck you-" She chokes, her eyes pricking with heat and breathing taking on an uneasy, stuttering pace. "I don't...I don't want to do this again. I don't want anything to do with this! You had your trickery fun last time, let me go..."
I said I wanted you to be here for eternity, now you can be. You will remember and hear my voice forever. *Winthorpe takes a sip of his tea out of a godzilla cup* He agrees, do you?
( @intellectual-tea-drinker )

I didn't let you in or out of the maze. Who are you?
- @i-control-the-maze
We stayed sane.
And we stayed together.
You will never break us apart again.
Oh, but I will, I'm sure.
you’ve got quite a bit of a memory loss, you rusty old door.
Oh but I don't, you will go insane soon enough.

So, you're still having this... place?
-Ethel @nanaethel
It is my maze. I control the maze, Ethel.
Of course you do. It's your place. Just like mine is mine.
Oh yes, and all your little tests. Maybe you should send them my way sometimes.
For your games? They'd reveal too much I'm afraid. Can't have that.
How about we play? It's been a while.
Yes, we should. Oh, before we play. WINTHORPE!
*Winthorpe comes running over* (this chain is one year pre-canon so he isn't free yet but at this point he is mute)
Have you met Winthorpe?
I'm afraid I haven't. Hello dear.
Well, this is Winthorpe, he's taken a vow of silence but he's great at the game.
*Winthorpe waits a second before taking a sip of tea*
He will be playing with us?
Well he can, Ethel, or he can just bring us tea.
*Winthorpe takes a sip of tea*
Ethel takes a sip of tea.
Who will start? Or continue?
You go next, Ethel.
Honored.
She thinks for a moment.
This Winthorpe... He didn't take that vow with his own will, did you, dear?
She smiles.
*they both take a sip of tea, Winthorpe seems to have sadness in his eyes*
Well, if we are going like that. Your Wilhelm, is no-longer with you under his own free will.
Ethel's expression turns cold.
Has he ever been?
*both sip their tea*
Then have some tea, Ethel.
She slowly takes a sip, keeping her eyes locked on him.
I know how you're games work. I've known you long enough.
She takes another sip and smiles at him.
*he takes a sip, Winthorpe looks in confusion then takes a sip*
Why don't I give you a little tour around my maze? It's changed since you were last here.
"they both take a sip of tea*
Takes a sip.
You've changed.
*both take a sip*
Let's go, Ethel.
Takes a sip
Very well.
Why don't you make your way out?
*he gestures towards an exit to the room*
Ethel pauses to look at the exit.
Hm.
She slowly makes her way to the exit, keeping her eyes on Winthorpe.
*Winthrop follows*
Right before the exit, she stops.
I'm not falling for your tricks, Wintrop. I have no business in your maze.
*he stops too*
Ethel, why would I trick you?
We have enough history for anything.
I suppose we do, Ethel, but it has been some time, for me at least.
*Winthorpe leaves the room*
For you, time is nothing.
She whispers, but still let's her curiosity follow him.
For me time is nothing, Ethel. But it can still be some time.
Fine then. Lead the way to that stupid maze of yours.
*walks towards the maze*
You first, Ethel.
Smile.
Such an honor.
*doesn't follow, Ethel is too far in the maze already to turn back once she notices*
