  What are my rights and obiligations as a Singapore PR?

  CPF Contributions

SPRs will have to contribute apercentage of their income to Central Provident Fund (CPF), at a graduated rate for the first two years, which is a mandatory savings scheme.

Income Tax

Eligible for tax relief for Central Provident Fund(CPF) contributions. The CPF contributions and accumulated earnings are taxexempt when they are withdrawn by the SPR at retirement or withdrawn upon permanent departure of the SPR.

National Service

Second generation male PR must serve National Service whereas first generation male PRs are not required to serve National Service.

  What is the eligibility for Singapore PR?

  Any person who is working in Singapore on a P, Q or S Work Pass.

P, Q or S Work Pass holder may include his/her spouse and 2 unmarried children less than 21 years of age in the application.

Eligibility for Singapore Employment Pass Holder

To be considered for an employment pass holder, applicant must have a minimum fixed monthly salary of S$3,000. There are three different types of this pass (P1, P2 and Q1 Pass). The Q1 Pass is applicable for employees earning a fixed salary of more than SGD 3,000 per month. The P2 Pass is used for employees earning more than SGD 4,500. The P1 Pass is applicable for employees earning more than SGD 8,000.
