shinee is and always will be five because jjong is their center, the point they gravitate towards, the point they circle around and have made a whole solar system surrounding, and those trajectories won’t just disappear. as long as they carry the name shinee, then it is explicit in-text that they’re always five forever because shinee inherently means five. and since they’ve made it very clear that they want to keep doing shinee, hell, that, at this point, they are shinee through and through, that’ll never change and jjong will always live in everything they’ll ever do, going forward. it’s them allowing themselves to keep living their dreams while also actively honoring jjong’s legacy.
