remove child/childish as a pejorative from your lexicon and from the lexicons of those around you and you will have a far more meaningful impact on reducing child abuse than if you posted "kill all pedophiles" on your woefully unimportant blog
"i am a self described enemy to liberation and i think being asked to respect children by making a minute change to my speech patterns is why nazis have a point" if you stopped acting incredulous so you could hear yourself maybe i wouldn't have to kick you in the shins for being a fucking fascist apologist. if you think not insulting children makes right wingers correct, you don't actually think that, you just already thought right wingers were correct and wanted an excuse.
this posturing is the exact behavior my post was criticizing and it's embarrassing anyone would even say the first few lines, let alone the baiting plausible deniability and accusatory nonsense she followed it up with. you help no one but your ego and oppressors, you are the enemy of child liberation and because i am not a fascist that makes you my enemy too. this is what people mean when they say liberals think fascists are correct and simply disagree about how moral fascist action is.
"but what if i want to imply lesserness of a person and other them by comparing them to a disadvantaged social group" then don't. it's that simple. im tired of people dancing around it. there are extremely simple ways to say that someone is acting inappropriately in any given situation none of which need to include a degrading comparison to an oppressed group. thinking that our language cannot have fascist propaganda baked into what you think is unassuming phrasing just means you fell for the propaganda.
and if you think "childishness" is meaningful beyond the often violent construction of children as an oppressed group idk how to help you. you genuinely think there is an essence of child as if it were like a christian soul held in the bodies of underage people that make them inherently unacceptable to you. That. Is. What. Your. Words. And. Actions. Express. no matter your intent. learn, improve, shut the fuck up
she's not being "childish", she's being a lazy self-centered bigot, myopically obsessed with her own comfort and willing to spend the misery of everyone else like currency to protect it.
see? not that difficult. if "childish" is the best you can come up with, you failed to produce a thought worth expressing and your next move should be to shut the fuck up
hey can anyone help me pay my phone bill?
its $50
if u can:
venmo: redloop
cashap+paypal: tropscream
People often react to the phrase "carbon footprint" with something about how it's coined by the fossil fuel industry to direct blame from producers to consumers, but I think there's still something extremely valuable about looking at emissions per capita -
graph one: total CO2 emissions, NOT per capita, by region. By 2020, China, the US, the EU, India, and Russia are the largest players, with the entire rest of the world barely surpassing China's emissions.
Graph two: The same regions but weighted per capita.
The US is unique in being extremely emissions-intense per capita while also being large and wealthy. This graph doesn't count emissions generated in China to produce goods shipped to America - it counts those under China's emissions.
It's really hard, I think, for people in the US to have perspective on how wealthy they are on a global scale. Of course no one feels wealthy if they're struggling to make rent or commuting an hour and a half to afford housing - but on a global scale, when over 700 million people live on less than $2 per day, the median American is one of the richest people on the planet.
If you look at the median individual across the OECD, take out their taxes, and adjust for cost of living by using purchasing power parity to the US dollar, the US median individual has $46,000 of disposable income a year. Only Luxembourg surpasses that (within the OECD)! Germany is at around $33k, the UK at around $25k, Japan around $21k, Mexico around $6k, and the two most populous countries in the world come in with China at $4.5k and India at $2.5k!
(I do need to note that this is disposable income and doesn't account for the value of services provided with tax money, so countries with a stronger investment in public infrastructure look worse here relative to the US than their inhabitants experience.)
I need to emphasize that while purchasing power parity isn't a perfect measure, its goal is to allow comparison of how much someone can afford given both cost of living and currency conversion rates.
Someone making federal minimum wage in the US is still able to afford more than twice as much (depending on location within the US) as the median person in Mexico and six times as much as the median person in India. The median person in the US has more than 20 times as much disposable income as the median person in India! When it comes to global warming and the disproportionate impact of the rich on the poor, the issue needs to be viewed in global perspective
every "genderfuck" thing about trans woman has been one of two things. either discouraging us from fully transitioning and saying we shouldn't wear makeup or shave or make any effort to be feminine. or it's trans tmes looking at the parts of our bodies that are the most dysphoria inducing and getting jealous. most of the time its both

not to be a dirty commie or anything but i don't think any one person should have enough money to solve world hunger and then get to decide not to
I hate I when I get an idea for a novel. Like oh no here starts the slow sad slip n’ slide to dissapointment again.
You ever been 30,000 words and hundreds of research hours into a project when you realize hey wait a minute. I don’t like this. This is bad.
Ok adding to this though that even though it is extremely relatable, this is a KNOWN thing with professional writing. 10k is often referred to as "having a pot boiling" or "having a stew" - it's the point where you often see an idea coming together and it's exciting! But THEN... 30k-50k is the point where that fun has to start coming together. In theatre, it's usually week 3 of a 5 week rehearsal period where you have to stop talking about the play and really get it all up on its feet and cohesive. In art, it's committing to what are going to be the final visible layers of colour and texture, in sculpture the moment where you're truly at the point of no return with carving out the shape.
It usually feels really bad. Because this is the point it becomes real craft. It's so, so difficult to really be able to identify if it's truly not going to be anything or you're just in the hardest part of the process, and really the only way to know is to... write through it. Write it badly. Or, if you really can't, put it in a drawer and come back to it after a few months of breathing space. Remember, you can fix so much in the edit, but you can't fix nothing!
(I say, fully looking at my latest draft of my book and considering throwing it in the bin. But my editor said exactly this to me, so I'm passing it along.)
this is 100% true. I've written 6 complete novels at this point and every single time around the 40k mark I feel lost in the woods. Nothing seems to be working. I feel awful; I can't sleep. I keep going even though I'm convinced I'm going to fail. And then... It's like leaving a tunnel and getting back out in the sunshine. Stuff starts coalescing. Things that weren't working have obvious fixes. I "can write" again, except I was writing the whole time. It just felt hopeless in the moment. It's not. You just gotta get out of the woods.
Ah yes the Slough of Desponds. Professional author with 13 books, and this is normal for me as well. (Checking for tension issues usually helps!)
Lmao I literally wrote a whole blog post abt it once.

awww the like button turns into a rainbow when you press it! that's so cute...hey staff what's with all the trans women you keep nuking?
i think we should be ridiculing them more for this. you don't get to try and go all "queer website" when your staff likes to go on nuking sprees targeting the trans fem users
every time i say velociraptor is very important to imagine a turkey-sized predatory bird and not the weird lizard thing from jurassic park
you have to love her. you have to
Looks like shed be real tasty roasted over an open flame. Or soup
Hey! That is somebody's pet! Look at her, she's the perfect size to put a harness on, leash up, and take for walks!
that is an undomesticated wild animal that would be immensely stressed out by all of those

always remember that chell is canonically* a transgender woman
Transition timeline; 99999 days on Aperture Science homebrew œstradiol
POV you used the phrase "transition timeline" on [tumblr] post about 20-year-old video game models
Where are the fucking ban waves of reichblr, @staff? There are fucking Nazis on this site, and mysteriously none of them seem to face the institutional hostility me and my sisters face. Where is your goddamn shame? Do you think your children will be proud of you? Do you think you will be remembered as anything other than the petty dogs of fascism you are?
#1 on trending is "trans pride," filled to the brim with stolen photos and bot accounts pretending to be trans women, all left to run rampant.
Queerest site on the internet, my ass! Institutionally, we exist for your sexual fulfillment, meant to be used and not to be heard! You push us off these spaces because you know that us speaking to each other makes us stronger than you!
how much you wanna bet these people have a more pleasant experience on this website than trans women do
@staff and @photomatt could acknowledge the problem. They could admit fault. They could actually work with the transfem community on here to deal with the problem (there's that whole community board or whatever where tumblr users are chosen to be representatives for the community in decision making). We'd still be pissed that it'd gone on so long, but ignoring or outright denying the problem just perpetuates the issue. Ignoring and denying makes those in charge culpable. If your apathy is enabling trans women getting irrationally terminated while nazis posting ginger bread hitler is left up, you are part of the problem. It's not too late to do better. Unless you just genuinely don't want to do better.
i think about how being a trans woman means subjecting yourself to endless suffering. stares in public, confrontations with strangers, harassment online. at best it's a cavalcade of freaks in the comments of all your posts trying to piss you off, at worst it's doxxing and long-term "lolcowing" on sites like kiwifarms.
i think about how in spite of this most trans women try to be exceptionally kind and compassionate. many of them do this so as not to turn away allies, of course. people are predisposed to abandon or find reason to hate us, so we must always be on our best behavior, kinder than anyone could be expected to be, damn near saintly. but still, they endure.
most trans women i know have been cast out from somewhere. lost social groups, in person or online, usually both. most trans women i know have been abused, starting with their parents and continuing into friends, partners, and otherwise. most trans women i know have seen the worst parts of humanity on full display all the time.
but every trans woman i know is also kind. trying their hardest every day, wanting so badly to be decent, to be good, to be kind. in the face of such endless and unceasing hardship i am shocked to see, always, that my sisters keep a brave face and keep smiling, keep doing good, keep trying to be their best selves. and i am astonished. because i think there really is something magical abt that.
I feel like theres a tendency amongst TME trans folks to view and portray masculine features in TMA folks as a challenge to perceptions of gender but honestly to me it just feels like we're being used as a prop to further your own goals, and that it seems infinitely more radical to portray any transfem as openly enjoying femininity, because femininity is so rarely celebrated, instead portrayed as a cage or a costume.
Like. When us transfems get assaulted or murdered, it is not because we have stubble. We had stubble before coming out, it was never punished then. We get assaulted and murdered because we are embracing femininity.
So yeah. Stop drawing your transfem characters looking like a guy in a dress, you're literally just perpetuating transmisogyny and pretending its good because you use the right pronouns.

hi trans indigenous people I love you
hi indigenous people who don't identify with the label trans because you exist outside of the Western gender binary I love you
I wish they made it even marginally possible to get a job like I’m so fucking sorry I don’t have a rare but also highly demanded skillset, an agreeable disposition, and the ability to survive off of three nickels a week I’m soooo sorry
I need to scream this from the rooftops:
IF YOU CAN’T GET A JOB, IT’S NOT YOUR FAULT!!!!! THE SYSTEM IS DEEPLY BROKEN!!!!!!!!
The hiring process has never been great, but in the past couple of years it’s hit rock bottom. Ghost jobs probably outnumber real jobs on job sites. Recruiters and HR use AI which throws out 90% of resumes before a real human being sees them. And most companies are hellbent on holding out for a unicorn candidate- meaning someone who already knows how to do the EXACT role without any training while also accepting entry level wages- instead of investing in new people.
It’s fucking hard out there right now. You are not alone and it’s not your fault if you can’t get hired.
