JADZIA DAX TASHA YAR SEVEN OF NINE
INDEPENDENT MULTIMUSE STAR TREK ROLEPLAY ACCOUNT
“A woman can preach, a woman can work, a woman can fight, a woman can build, can rule, can conquer, can destroy, just as much as any man can.”
I’m thinking maybe I’ll move Bishop & Burke over to my new multi muse. I haven’t had muse for either in a long while but maybe having them in less concentrated doses will help me be able to write them better. I’m not sure yet. It’s just a maybe. They’d be on my Star Trek account (which would just become my sci-fi account instead) @stellarumwomen and more specifically my multimuse @cosmonauthearted .
🤔🤔🤔
// every now and then I remember I have this account and I reach inside my brain and ask myself if I’m feeling any Bishop muse...
The answer, at the moment, is no. :/

muthur9000 replied to your post “// so are synthetics in the Aliens universe AI’s the same as MUTHUR or...”
Synthetics are to interact with the crew and do things muthur cannot do. Humans are the back up to the AI. AI runs everything from environmental controls to navigation. But synthetics cannot think for themselves, they do not make decisions. So they cannot captain or pilot a ship.
// wait wait.... synthetics cant think for themselves?? i dont feel like i agree with that. there’s a lot of evidence in the franchise that shows synthetics making choices or having thoughts other than what humans or the ships ai’s tell them. bishop choosing to circle around in the air at the end of aliens, for example, despite hicks being unconscious and ripley ordering him to stay. or him asking to be terminated in a3. (not to mention like everything david ever does ever. but i’m not sure you’re counting the prequels.) i just dont think i can get behind that one.
// so are synthetics in the Aliens universe AI's the same as MUTHUR or are they something else? and is that something else higher or lower on the "is it actually alive?" food chain? i consider them to be more fleshed out versions of an AI, but if they can already build artificial intelligence into a human-sized/human-acting package, why bother with the huge room and awkward texting to get information from the ship's AI?
i know im thinking too far into this, since Ash was a big twist in the original movie, but it's not like any of the characters we're surprised robots existed and were that advanced. they were just surprised that Ash was one. so that suggests the technology is fairly common.
maybe it's just a plot hole. idk.
okay I have to get this off my chest because it's been bothering me
that post going around that's like "the opposite of 'we die like men' is 'we survive like women'"
no, it isn't.
the opposite of "we die like men" is "we survive UNLIKE women"

But what about a sci-fi movie where it’s just casually mentioned that one of the characters is an android or a cyborg? And like that’s it. They don’t turn evil. They have emotions. They feel pain. They don’t have super strength. No one even treats them differently it’s just a few minor references like “Oh, guys, I need to charge. Goodnight,” or “Shit that new upgrade is giving me a headache.”
@hyperdynesynthetic discovered a positronic signature!
For a long time, B-4 could do nothing but stare at the other android, mouth open and eyes wide. Bishop looked so human. B-4 had thought that all androids looked like him– were him, in a sense– but Bishop was entirely different. It was difficult not to view him as his own separate category of being.
“Are you my brother?” Bishop looked different, but he was still synthetic. Was that enough to be considered family? Data had only ever mentioned one human responsible for the creation of artificial life; that must have meant that Bishop was made by Doctor Soong, too.
So why did he look so different?
@positronicminds.
From the stare, Bishop had begun to worry there was a malfunction in the artificial person across from him. When he spoke, and with a somewhat childlike innocence, almost glee, Bishop’s lips twitched into a brief, awkward smile. He looked down and in a gruff whisper muttered something that approximated a human’s laughing huff.
“I don’t think so.” Though as far as he knew, the Weyland Corp. had been the only to successfully make a more advanced synthetic. This man looked more like older Seegson models, though he doubted any of them self aware enough to ask such an interestingly worded question.
“Who was your designer?”
Alien/Alien Isolation AU Part 2:
“Alright, sweetheart, you ready?” “Ready. Yeah, as I’ll ever be.” “Then let’s get this done.” “Wait—! M-Mom…” “What? What is it, Amy?” “I… I love you.” “… I love you too, sweetheart.”
After discovering each other beyond the wreckage of the destroyed space station, Ellen Ripley and her daughter, Amanda, realize a computer malfunction with a cascading effect was what kept Ripley’s escape pod from traveling to the frontier and thus drifting in space for fifteen years. Now, unable to go back into cryosleep, the two conclude that their only hope lies in returning to the remnants of Sevastopol Station on a salvaging mission.
As they approach the debris field, their motion sensors begin to detect several dozen signatures moving about on the station. Each far too quickly to be humans. Terrified, but determined, the mother-daughter duo create a plan: Amanda will stay aboard the life boat and monitor the sensors and help guide her as Ellen attempts to retrieve the necessary components to make their repairs…
