"Not the royal guard kid. Pretty close if you ask me though."

           The prince cocked his head, only to            grin a second later.            This guy looked like something straight            out of his father's stories. And as endless            as those stories were, it wasn't hard to find            the one this fit into.            "Then you must be Metal Sonic, right? --Or            at least, that's what you look like...kinda. The            colors are a little different."

     ”I guess you don’t       like to be called little.”      The acorn said with a      small chuckle, rubbing      her son’s head.

     ”How’s my little speedy        hedgehog doing?”

                         "Mooooooom."               Poor guy--he doesn't               take well to being               called 'little'.

"Kid, it’s not a costume. I can promise you that much."

"Nope, sorry kid, No batteries included."

"Hey Manik! I found something really neat near the creek by my house. I had to dig it out, but I got it. Want to see?"

          "Something neat--as in cool?                                         Show me-show me!"

"Same place you’ll ever be: Mobius, kiddo.Now what exactly is goin’ on?" He tried to keep the tiny bit of anger from his voice.

"Well, you’re here… where ever here is, I actually don’t know what this area is called myself…" The hedgehog chuckled. "Date… 30th July 2014,"

The hoglet blinked. A moment of shock surpassing his features before pushing them away with a shake of his head. "But that's....I don't..." Manik furrowed his brows. Maybe this Zone hopping thing had been a bad idea to begin with. I should have left the stupid warp ring alone. I thought it would--mom is gonna kill me if she finds out. "Um...." Manik cleared his throat, trying to force a smile, a sheepish one at that. "Dad--I mean, Sonic.  Yeah, Sonic. That's your name, right? Of course it is! Erm! Do you know how to..." He trailed off, unsure how to put it. This zone traveling thing was new, and not only was it new, it was dangerous. "Warp ring! Do you know how to use one!?" He suddenly shouted, grabbing the golden ring from his quills and holding it out.

"Easy, you’re on Mobius," Sonic gave the broadest answer possible and it was most likely not the one he wanted.

Manik deadpanned. "Well, yeah. But I mean. Where on Mobius? And the date--what's the date?" He mumbled.
