Zeus, my King, My Father and god, I bring this hymn to you as a form of worship. I wish to show my adoration for you and build kharis between us. So come, lightning bearer, And listen to my song! You drop pins of lightning into the sky and watch them shutter through the clouds. Your mighty thunderbolt rumbles across the Earth, And rain slips through the cracks the light makes. Your storms form slowly like a beast waiting in the heavens, And wreak heavy bouts of rain upon us mortals! They feed the flowering plants and trees on Gaia’s skin, And fuel raging springs across the backs of Mountains. Glorious Zeus of storms, I praise your sacred name! Your strength surpasses that of every Olympian that sits beside you, Yes, every ichorous god combined could not pull you down from Olympos’ heights! Awe-inspiring one, you will never fall nor break your reign over us and every Theos among you! From my heart I long to fill your halls with my praise, For I feel your presence all around me. In clouds and merely the sky on bright and shining days, I know you are with me Lordly Zeus! Even in my humble Oikos, you collect an offering of undiluted juice as the Agathos Daimon. My snake-formed god, you bring prosperity unto my household. I am grateful for your harmony-bringing shape, and praise this aspect, too. May you find this hymn pleasing and my intentions pure. I end this song and thank you for everything I have been gifted by you, Great god!
