i hate how many posts about trans women deserving respect always devolve into "I love girldick" or "trans rights but I don't want to date a trans person" because that's entirely unrelated to the topic at hand. you should not respond to feminism with "YESSS I loveeee you because I see you as nothing but a sex object" you people sound like other men I get stuck talking with that end up saying "free the nipple so I can see boobies in public" and thinking they're feminists. why can't we just respect women regardless of your attraction to them or not. why does it need to be brought up in every conversation regarding their rights

in the 1960s it was “i’m a respectable normal everyday person who just happens to be a homosexual” in the 2000s it was “i don’t agree with gay marriage if you want to have a civil union that’s fine but i don’t think we should call it marriage” and now it’s split between “gays against groomers”, TERFs/LGB Without The T, and transmedicalists but they all boil down to the same “if i throw the loud ones under the bus it’ll save me” cowardice it always has and always will

When a character doesn’t realize they’ve been, like, shot or whatever and they hand brushes against their side and comes away wet with blood, and they’re just staring at it like wtf is this and then their knees just totally give out on them and they sink down, maybe gasping a little as the reality finally hits them. That’s good stuff.

I see that, and raise you a character who knows they’ve been shot, but waits until the rest of their crew is out of sight to put their hand against the slowly spreading stain of blood on their shirt, then trying to steady their breathing so they can follow without letting on how injured they are.

Okay but like the character who doesn’t realize they’ve been hurt trying to see if everyone else is okay only to slowly realize that everyone is looking at them with mounting horror. Then they touch their side to find it’s wet and oh no

Then there’s the half hilarious, half heartbreaking subversion where the character gets stabbed, and then whines and complains about how they’ve ‘been mortally wounded, there’s no hope for them,’ in order to annoy people enough that they’re distracted from how serious the wound actually is.
