officially a year of being publicly transfem on tumblr. its been.. interesting. I expected ignorance and hatred, naturally, but what appalled me was just how much of it came from people who shared my identity and those who claim to support people like me. Ive come to understand that there is a specific standard of "transfem" on this platform, and I dont fit it. Im not white, Im not femme, Im not a binary woman, Im not allo, and Ive certainly never used 4chan, and that alienates you (WAY too many of these women are a bit too proud to admit theyre former nazis and channers). Ive pretty much figured out that transfem communities on here arent for me, and I simply wont stand for such cesspits of misery and racism (dear GOD the racism). but thats okay. its no real loss to me, because I already know Im loved, I know who to trust, and theres more than enough transfems I know outside of tumblr and in real life to make up for it. what hurts the most is how being around those people has affected me. I still have thoughts like "ugh, I cant stand "tme" lesbians" and end up having to catch myself. I dont want to think that way. I dont want to define myself by suffering. Im okay with not reaching out anymore. Ive seen what happens to people like me when we try to fight, so Im simply leaving it behind, for now. I love intersex people I love trans men I love aces I love Black and brown queer people and nothing can be done to convince me otherwise.
