Matthew a tradwife? Which drug did you take? The guy who talks non stop about hockey, breathes hockey, leaves his new born to play hockey... A tradwife?
God you guys are so fucking stupid and delulu. Just say you want to be Matthew and you want to be a tradwife and stop projecting. Self shipping exists you know? No need to pretend you're talking about a character.
Lmao, you're actually 200% right about Matthew Tkachuk. The man is a hockey cyborg. He breathes hockey (and golf), talks hockey (and golf), and has probably spent more time thinking about hockey (and golf) than most people spend thinking about anything else. And no, nobody is imagining him sitting in a cottage kitchen baking sourdough in a floral apron.
The "tradwife" thing is literally fandom brainrot slang, not a claim that Matthew is secretly a housewife or some statement about gender roles. It's a joke about how aggressively team-oriented he is — the guy who cares deeply about the people around him, fiercely protects his teammates, constantly deflects praise onto others, and willingly takes on responsibilities within team culture. That's kind of the whole point of RPF/fandom language: people take exaggerated character traits and play with them. It's not a documentary, especially when we are talking about him ON THE TUMBLRrrrrr!!!!!
That being said, it would be better if you could come off anon instead of leaving anonymous hate in my inbox, maybe we could have a genuinely fascinating conversation about fandom analysis, fanon dynamics, and how RPF/fandom creation works. I've always been completely transparent about my own interpretations—maybe you'll have the guts to do the same😉!
I genuinely don't know what exactly offended you so much about my post. You're absolutely allowed to disagree with my interpretation, but jumping straight to calling people stupid and delulu (well, since we are talking about RPF here, so I guess we're all a little delulu by definition), and accusing people of just wanting to be Matthew or turning a fandom joke into a self-insert fantasy, is a pretty bold accusation. It's also a pretty unfair and baseless assumption.
You're not actually engaging with the interpretation, you're just inventing a motive and attacking the person behind it (anonymously).
That's a surprisingly intense reaction to a Tumblr fandom discussion. But hey, if throwing insults at me makes you feel better, I hope it helped 😉❤️.
