You looked up from the mindless scrolling on your phone and into the eyes of the person in front of you. Clad in a simple light grey hoodie and a black tee was your boyfriend, sitting on the opposite side of the table, a contemplative pout on his lips.
âWhat should I paint next?â
Hwang Hyunjin turned his own phone screen around to show you his latest masterpiece, a branch of cherry blossoms in full bloom. Youâve always admired his artistic skills, fascinated by the way he loses himself in hours and hours of making art. Just like how youâd lose yourself admiring him for hoursâŚ
âHmm⌠what about a pretty scenery? Or Kkami? Or you could paint me,â you suggested jokingly and took a sip of your latte in attempt to divert your eyes.
He leans forward to tuck a loose strand of hair behind your ear.
âThatâs actually a great idea. Iâve always wanted to practice some live model drawings.â
Hyunjin has always been very passionate about the things he found great interest in, like dancing, painting and most notably - you. So why not combine the best of both worlds?
A particularly loud slurp gave away your surprise.
âReally? You would do that?â
âSure I would! And if you like it, Iâll gift it to you so you can frame and keep it by your bedside table,â he flashed one of his cute eye smiles, making your heart skip a beat.
âSo is that a yes? Will you be my muse?â he inquired excitingly, cocking his head to one side.
âYay! I was gonna practice watercolour paintings this time. Iâve been quite into them, latelyâŚâ And there he was again, in his creative universe, chatting about the different subjects he wanted to paint, the colour palettes he planned on using⌠And you too, were engrossed in your thoughts - staring at your boyfriend in blissful silence.
You didnât even notice when Hyunjin stopped his rambling to chuckle at your dreamy gaze.
âYeah?â you mumbled absentmindedly.
âI think Iâve changed my mind. I wonât just paint you anymore.â
âOh.â You sat up, suddenly feeling a sudden sting of disappointment.
âI think I prefer drawing heart-fluttering things.â
Before you knew it, his lips were already on yours. You gasped in surprise, though not hesitating in returning the contact. They felt just as pillowy and soft as they looked like and tasted faintly of bitter Iced Americano and sweet cheesecake. However, this moment didnât last as long as you would have liked.
When Hyunjin pulled away, you were the one pouting at him this time.
âYouâre not drawing me anymore?â
âOh baby, I am. But my muse just inspired me to a better ideaâŚâ He looked straight at you, a mischievous spark in his chocolate orbs as you anticipated his next words.
âIâm drawing us. Making out.â
It goes without saying that you hid yourself behind the coffee cup in embarrassment afterwards.
But little did you know, he did proceed with his plan. It even became a mini series of sketches, all based on those sweet, heart-fluttering moments between two lovers. Between the two of you.
