he grew up in malibu with saltwater in his hair and a skateboard within reach. his parents worked hard, expected little more than kindness and honesty from their children, encouraging curiosity above all else. while his younger sister found comfort in routine, gabriel was constantly searching for the next challenge or story worth telling.

he studied kinesiology, curious and amazed by what the human body could accomplish. he wasn't interested in the vanity of bodybuilding; he loved movement for movement's sake. after graduating, gabriel earned his personal training certification and the next several years, he coached clients while picking up seasonal jobs across the country. one winter he'd be teaching avalanche safety in colorado, the next he'd be guiding kayak tours in washington or working at a climbing gym in utah. stability never held much appeal when there was another adventure waiting somewhere else.

in his mid-twenties, a climbing accident in yosemite left him with a fractured pelvis and a broken wrist, leading to months of rehabilitation. it was the first time he had ever been forced to stay in one place. the recovery process felt endless and frustrating, but overall it humbled him and changed the way he approached fitness. from there on, gabriel stopped going after impossible feats and became more interested in longevity and mobility, helping people refind confidence in their own bodies after setbacks. it's the experience that made him a far better trainer than any certification ever could.

as a trainer, his clients all know him as someone who celebrates progress. he'll happily train someone for their first 5k and help an older adult regain mobility after surgery. while he's undeniably competitive, he's never cared much about sculpting the ideal physique. to gabe, fitness was about opening doors: being able to climb the mountain, carry the backpack, swim the extra mile, and keep up with the people you love.

a native to bear creek, theodora never felt the urge to leave the mountain town that shaped her. while many of her classmates dreamed about bigger cities, she found comfort in familiar faces and a community where people remembered each other's names. her parents still live in the house she grew up in, and there are days when she drives past it because it soothes her after a difficult shift.
