I’m sure the last thing you wanted when you came here was to hear my dating woes, so can I get you something to apologize for talking your ear off for once?”

“Going on vacation with each other to my family cabin is a big deal I want to make sure we are gone before my father can come here and make me do some training with him” he said as he turned his head to look over his shoulder at the man raising an eyebrow as if to say he was expecting him to follow him. Once he saw the man moving and even getting naked he smiled before climbing inside the shower humming happily when the other gave him his way by coming into the shower with him.

“You weren’t aware we were at that level? Well if your alright with it I’d like to be at that level” he said giving a small smile as he started the water after shutting the sliding door “you are alright with it, right?”

And I know I’m making it sound like it’s a struggle, it’s not. You got me to care for all these different ways of thinking, it’s just exams come at a difficult time for me. I’m meeting with the divorce lawyer later tomorrow, but that’s life. If anything, your classes give me the distraction I’ve been needing.” He didn’t mean to vent all that much but it was already out, he was feeling like he could trust the man beyond them being a professor and student.

Greyson was worried sick. They had never been that late before, their curfew had been hours ago. He tried calling with no luck, and text messages went with no answer. He prayed they were okay. You know mom hates whisky breath.”

He took him on his word over treating it like it was his place to he snooped inside the fridge but he figured he shouldn’t eat anything else when it was getting that late.

Rex walked around and towards the professor, he stood by his side looking down on his papers. “I take it back, I don’t envy you taking work home and looking over and over at the same thing.” He sighed and rested his hand over the man’s shoulder, perhaps he was peeking a bit too much. “Do you want one too? Coffee.”

“yes?” he said, leaning against a big table in the living room. he’d taken a lot of papers and put them on his side of it. “oh, by the way, feel free to feel at home and welcome and all that. barefoot, change clothes, take a shower, i don’t know.” the professor looked at him with a smile. rex was the first man that he brought to his place for another reason than just banging. he also found amusing that he called him by his name instead of professor or some kind of formal shit. julio pushed his shoes off and opened a couple of buttons of his shirt. “i can make us something to eat later.”

“I’ll think twice about any of those, I do have to see you in the morning trying to look my best for the final test.” Rex shook his head and moved to the couch nearest to the table the professor had set for himself. He did, however, take his shoes off just so he could lie over the couch with some papers and a notebook he picked from his bag. “Don’t worry about me, I’m full. I didn’t come here to get in the way of your work.” Rex let out a big sigh and rubbed his eyes some before taking a better look at his notes, he had to work a way to get all of those notes in his head or he’d be screwed during his test. “But if you want a quick bite and aren’t high maintenance, I can work out a grilled cheese sandwich for you. My kids... tolerate me as a cook.” 

“i work better with company.” he smiled, winking at the younger. “and you can ask me anything. i’ll help you since you’re no spoiled rich stupid baby.” putting on his coat. the question made him laugh. why would he assume he was married? specially since he wore no ring. “no wife. just a home to myself. so feel free to crash and study. and we’ll see about that hint or not.” he got on his car and waited for rex to join. the trip was nice, just casual chatting. rex was really someone julio had to have around. when they arrived, he opened the door of his house and let the stranger come in first. “welcome, rex.”

Rex had grown sleepy inside the car so the latter half of their trip turned silent, odd enough, the feeling faded away the moment they’d arrived at Julio’s place. It looked a whole lot nicer than his own, maybe that’s what a degree does for a man. “Thanks.” He nodded back at him and walked in first, inside it was a bit chilly but still manageable. “Good thing I had a coffee, I really needed that one or else study night would be a no go.” The man chuckled and crossed his arms under his chest. “Forgot about something, hold on... it’ll be just a second.” He excused himself to the immediate next room so he’d get some privacy for his call. His mom was visiting so he had her babysitting for his kids while he studied which was looking like it’d go for longer than he expected. Once that was done, he got back looking for the man. “Julio?” He called for him, not a guy to snoop around on a strange place.

Rex was fixing his jacket up when he heard the proposal. “Are you sure I won’t get in the way?” He cocked an eyebrow and picked his bag too from the booth. He figured it’d be much better to have the man with all the answers right next to him, in case he missed anything within his notes. “I’ll take you on, I believe I can work at least one hint out of you.” The man chuckled and moved to the side, letting the professor leading the way so he’d walk next to him. “Won’t the wife get mad? Taking work home, I mean.” Rex didn’t mean to be nosy but he couldn’t outright look at the man with the eyes of a college brat. He wasn’t one.

“You didn’t have to pay for the coffee, man. But thanks.” Rex chuckled and put his wallet back. He’d had the most normal time with someone on campus, just about a year too late after he got in. Nobody said it would be easy to start college this late in his life. “I don’t think I can change your mind on giving me a hint for tomorrow’s test, can I?” The man looked up to meet with his professor’s eyes and laughed some again. He was stressed by so many things, mainly that exam. Rex got up and picked his jacket from the chair, putting it back on. “Not fair you get a nice night of sleep and I gotta stay up late studying.”

Brian grinned a little hearing the warning “Oh are you?
