Arizona is literally on fire.

The state has at least 4 wildfires going on and thousands of firefighters are fighting this, but we have less than half contained on the biggest fire. (42%)

Our biggest fire is the Bush fire, that has already covered 180k acres.

Now I know what most of you might be thinking, 'oh, this is Arizona, it happens a lot.' Well let me tell you that Arizona doesn't get large wildfires often. Surprise, it's not common here. We usually get smaller wildfires which we put out quickly, most often in a day.

Our firefighters are trying their best to get these fires contained but due to the immense heat and the strong winds, its getting difficult. Lots of people who live close to the fires had been evacuated already.

I can only see the smoke covering what used to be our beautiful blue skies. Its been like this for days.

These fires started on June 13th but the majority of news about this is from Arizona. I have found only few other news casts talking about this. Our state is suffering (most of it in ruins) and it feels like we're not being heard about this.

This post is not to put down any of the protesting or other important news. I just want people to be aware of what is happening here right now.

We're on fire.

If you notice whenever you get real with a person who is treating you like shit, and they immediately shrivel up into this pathetic ball of self loathing so that somehow you’re the one comforting them, they are an emotional abuser.

It took me awhile to get to the point where I could look at myself and be like, “you fucked up.” And then sit there and interrogate why I had done something shitty, what was going on within me to make me think it had been okay, and do the hard work of working to be the type of person who wouldn’t do that shit a-fucking-gain. 

Ain’t nothing wrong with looking at yourself and being like, “you were not a good person today/that week/that year.”

1. They twist your words and use them against you.

2. They’re mean – but then they say that you misunderstood them.

3. They make you feel guilty for saying, no.

4. They act cold towards you if you don’t do what they want.

5. You never feel as if you meet their expectations.

6. You feel as if you’re walking on eggshells all the time.

7. You constantly feel anxious about the relationship.

I would go so far to say, it is impossible to be a good roleplayer without understanding what intentional roleplaying is. 

First, a definition of terms:

Intentional Roleplaying means that you have a strong awareness of your muse’s actions and, most importantly, an in depth understanding of the consequences of their actions on others. 

This is critical for respecting the boundaries of others since a lot of admins are uncomfortable with rping certain topics. Without it, theres no way you can respect your partner’s boundaries because you won’t know what boundaries they have and how to respect them. 

Intentional roleplaying requires that you:

Hold your muse accountable for their actions: This is not just “I don’t endorse what happens IC”. It’s more than that. You constantly need to hold your muse accountable. If the story doesn’t allow for it immediately, then hold them accountable OOC. And besides, there always comes a day when everyone gets the consequences of their actions. You must let your muse have that.

Keep your muse separate from you: Again, more than just denouncing your muse’s behavior. Don’t take it personal when your partner critiques your muse. It’s understandable that you rp to get away from your own problems. Whats not okay is when you start encroaching in other people’s space and making other people uncomfortable. This is a space for everyone.

Actively seek understanding the consequences of your muse’s actions: This means asking your partners about whats going on in the rp. Talk about the consequences. Ask about boundaries your partner has and if it’s okay to even go on certain routes. This is important.

if you don’t already use xkit, you’re going to want to. trust me. i never used xkit before this update.

“editable reblogs” still work. you’re going to need to use them. if you hover over a previous reply to a thread and click the X to get rid of it, it doesn’t actually work. it’s necessary to use editable reblogs or it’ll still show the very first post of the thread when you reblog it, even when you think you’ve removed it. 

i also installed “shorten posts” from xkit, just as a backup in case it helps get rid of that very first post in a thread. not really sure if it actually helps, but oh well ! doesn’t hurt.

any formatting you do in reblog / text edit mode WILL show up on your blog itself ( if you have a tumblr.com blog ), but it won’t show up on dash-only blogs.

when read mores show up on the dash, if you click “read more,” it no longer takes you to the person’s blog. it just shows the rest of the text on your dashboard. but when you refresh your dashboard, the “read more” will forever go away. the text under the “read more” will always be visible.
