Will anything ever bring us as much joy and comedic bliss as the reveal of Jason Mendoza? Will I ever feel as alive as I did in that moment when Jason utters the words "heaven is so racist"? Will there ever be a moment in time that slaps me so hard in the face with surprise as the moment Jianu the monk rapidly turns into Jason the Jacksonville dirtbag? Will we as a society ever capture that kind of magic again?

I don’t wanna get into the solar power discourse but like,, the attitude I’ve been seeing lately from fans on social media is concerning. It seems like many people feel owed a tailor made experience, and are mad when it isn’t provided. People are hounding Hozier for new music when he posts about something unrelated, MCR’s merch/hipdot collab are being called cash grabs because “everyone was respecting new music and you’re just trying to release merch we can’t afford because of a pandemic” and lorde took a break and she comes back and I see people like “you were away for four years to work on this, why don’t I like it?” It’s such a terrible way to approach art I think. Art should be challenging, should allow you to empathise with someone else, AND ARTISTS DONT OWE YOU ANYTHING ELSE. If they’re gonna release new music, they will. If not, THEIR OLD CATALOG STILL EXISTS. I hope all of those who are making these takes are children and grow out of it because it’s such a weird approach to art and artists.
