Was any of this expected at all? I haven’t read any theories, so I’m completely stunned, but did we know anything about the third sibling? Was there an original story about this person?

Coming back to tumblr in ages just say:
Whaaaaaaaaaat!?!?!?
Edgar Allan Poe’s Murder Mystery Dinner Party cast: The Women | The Men
Mina Murray’s Journal
New Secret Thing!
I’ve been beavering away on something in secret for a while, and now it’s finally out in the world - Mina Murray’s Journal, a modernised, vlog adaptation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula. I’ve flipped the characters around so Mina and Lucy are the heroes, it’s all told vlog-style, and I’m massively proud of it.
It stars Rosie Holt, Kate Soulsby, Liam Dryden and Matt Hargreaves, season 1 is shot and in the edit, but you can see a trailer right now:
This is my first webseries since 2009's Girl Number 9, which got several Streamy nominations, the first UK webseries to do so. Back then, the UK web scene was nothing like it is now, and we faced an impossible struggle convincing people to fund a second season or any other webshows, they just couldn’t visualise how it would all work. Things are miles better now, people get it, and there are lots of talented folk out there.
The idea for Mina came a couple of years ago, but I didn’t write it down or do anything about it, as I didn’t know if anyone would be interested, or if it would even work. Attending my first GeekyCon convention, I was inspired by the amazing, creative attendees - I realised that they would get it, they’d know what I was trying to do.
So I wrote it up, got some very cool, clever people involved, and now it’s officially A Thing. It wouldn’t have existed without the GeekyCon audience inspiration, so I did a sneak peek at ep1 while I was there this year to thank them for giving me the motivation to do it.
It’s funny, it’s scary, it’s aimed at audiences of all ages, so there won’t be gore or swearing, which may surprise you if you’re only familiar with my horror work, but I’ve done plenty of family and kids’ shows too. I really wanted to do something fun and different, and hopefully I’ve managed that.
The show will start airing on YouTube next month, so keep an eye on the website, the Twitter account, the Facebook page, and subscribe to the YouTube channel to make sure you don’t miss anything. It’s a Moranic Production, one of the first projects from my & Cat’s production company, so have a look at the site to see what else we’re cooking up.

“The story of humanity is not a story of a few people who had huge, gigantic effects on the world. That’s only the story we hear because it’s the easy story to tell. Caring for ourselves and other people is the only thing that has ever mattered to the future of our species.” -Hank Green, Redefining What it Means to Matter (x)

Almost 3 years ago, I spent a whole night blogging about my friend’s baby being born and how extremely happy I was... Today I am that happy again, they welcomed their second child :)

“I have visited lairs, burrows and nests across five continents, observed the curious habits of magical beasts in a hundred countries, witnessed their powers, gained their trust and, on occasion, beaten them off with my travelling kettle.” - Newt Scamander
I wish Matthew were here. It’s funny. I feel as if I’m only half myself without him.
i wanna take a moment to spare a thought to our muslim brothers and sisters, that have been consistently blamed for the complete lack of humanity of a handful of people who preach violence in the name of god. i’m so sorry you have to carry this burden, i’m so sorry you’re at the hands of people who will seek vengeance for something you are not to blame. please know this, like countless blogs of may wonderful people, is and will always be a safe space.
Praying for peace. 🙏

People in Brussels are coming together to write hopeful messages on a square called ‘Beursplein’. The solidarity here is sensible.
If Rochester, Heathcliff, Darcy, and Colonel Brandon were in a bar fight…..who would win?
Asking the important questions.
Heathcliff is the obvious answer here, but I don’t think he’s necessarily the one who would win. Sure he’s scrappy, and would definitely fight dirty, but even in a bar fight I think there has to be some respect paid to experience and strategy.
Colonel Brandon might be a bit older, but - as a military man - the guy knows how to fight. He’s smart, too. He’d immediately size up the other guys, decide who was the biggest threat, and wait for an opening.
Rochester is definitely the wildcard in this line up, though. You never know what that guy is hiding. He might have some sort of training up his sleeve. Who knows? We sure don’t. And he has size on his side. But remember: his vision is shot. Since his disability is a recent thing, (rather than lifelong) he hasn’t necessarily had the time to develop his instincts without the use of his eyes. So while his wild, powerful swings will be a threat, he’ll probably get knocked out of the running pretty easily.
Darcy doesn’t have the training, or the brute strength. Knowing this, he would excuse himself from the situation, and half the people in the bar would tell it like he was very noble and dignified, and the other half would say that he should have stayed and gotten his ass beat up rather than behave in such a cowardly manner.
SO:
Colonel Brandon wins. UNLESS he gets hit by a stray Rochester punch. In which case, Heathcliff wins. Darcy’s already on his way back to Pemberly by now trying to figure out how to explain the black eye to Lizzie.
