Birthplace:Ā Afton, Minnesota
Timeline:Ā January 7th, 1983 - August 8th, 2009
When Helena and Juliet met it was love at first shared orange soda. That might not seem terribly important but fastforward ten years and youāve got a happy married couple and a beautiful bouncing baby boy, which would be Huckleberry.
Born in Afton, Minnesota amidst much screaming and a great deal of snow (which luckily stayed outside rather than in) Huck was born. Named after the Mark Twainās protagonist his birth was truly nothing out of the ordinary. Aside from the fact that he was one of the Sperm Bank of Californiaās first success stories, and loved by everyone who came to visit him after heād been cleaned up a bit.
Having been born during a winter vacation Huckās actual place of residence was an apartment in Los Angeles. Helena starred as the legendary Pamela Holiday in a soap titled āThatās so Holidayā that just about nobody cared about. She was often at the studio shooting the next episode which left Huck in the care of Juliet, and Huckās aunt Matilda who was staying with them whilst studying at UCLA.
Huckās childhood wasnāt terribly eventful. He had his fair share of mishaps, from rubbing hot chili in his eye and being driven to the emergency center and the time he nearly put his hamster in the wash (luckily Mr. Chips survived to see another day long enough for them to realize Mr. Chipās was a she). Neither of his parents believed Huck was suited for a structured learning environment, and they were most certainly right. Huck liked to discover things for himself, and cause chaos where he could. He learned much more on one family vacation than he did from having childrenās books read to him.
Unfortunately he couldnāt be a toddler forever and soon enough they were search for a school that would tolerate him. Luckily Helena had the good fortune of striking a conversation with one of the guest stars of their musical episode and learned about the Waldorf School, in a matter of weeks they packed their bags and enrolled Huck.
They were pleased to discover, once summer had ended, that Huck fit into Waldorf quite well. He liked the crafts and other children and he seemed to get on well with everyone else (which had been their biggest worry). Although he didnāt seem to be making any friends he didnāt seem unhappy either so they had to be doing something right.
The years flew by, Huck still didnāt take academics very seriously and focused instead on sports and music. It was hard for anyone to see anything inherently wrong in that, especially when he pulled out his trumpet and actually made noises that didnāt sound like a moose in hydrochloric acid.
By the time Huck was a teenager everyone was bothering him about what he wanted to do in college. Huck didnāt know. He didnāt like thinking more than a day ahead, much less two years and the more people asked about it the less he wanted to think about it and by the time college admissions rolled around his parents had to bribe him into writing his essays and actually picking four schools to send off forms to.
Luckily a small (yet endearing) college in Northern California sent him a letter and having no other options Huck agreed to go. The summer before his freshman year however his life was changed forever. Huck and his friends ended up on a tour of Europe, tour being a very loose definition of their misadventures and they somehow ended up camping out near a church one night, and a couple of grave robbers came along. Huck and the boys were a bit drunk and followed them around asking questions, eventually they realized the boys were both harmless and clueless and ended up asking them for help.
Somewhere along the line Huck (being the incredible genius that he is) reasoned that there was nothing wrong with stealing from dead people. They didnāt have any need for fancy jewelry, and outside of the awful smell it was a thrill. The best of adventures. Huck went along with the grave robbers and started to pick up the trade but soon enough the summer was over and he was back in California.
It became apparent that Huck didnāt have the grades to be a mortician. Or the stomach. However with a lot of work he did begin his career in Anthropology. His whole life Huck had been given nearly daily lectures on applying himself and for once, he finally was. The change wasnāt astronomical, but it gave everyone hope.
Graduating a year later than he should have Huck was thrust out of the ācompetitiveā college lifestyle heād like to think heād had and into the job market. Moving back in with his parents Huck started to look for work at restaurants and car washes. Most werenāt stupid enough to employ him, and those who did were quick to drop him. Huck always brought bad luck to businesses not to mention the fact that he was rather mouthy and unprofessional with customers.
Eventually he turned to grave robbing to pay the rent his moms demanded of him each month. It also gave him plenty of cash to spend in the meantime but he was quite horrible at stashing it and soon enough Juliet had questions about where he was getting his money. Drugs? Gambling? Both seemed more logical than grave digging and Huck admitted to both and either. His answers changed each time and he eventually was far too paranoid and sick of hearing about it and was gone without a second glance, moving from California to Florida.
Florida wasnāt much better. Now that heād been out of business for a bit Huck was low on cash and the crummy apartment he could afford was definitely bad for his health. Soon enough he was forced to get back into grave robbing before realizing itād be far more convenient to become a grave digger. Luckily he eventually built up contacts and ended up with an actual, decent, job and felt a bit more holy than he had been for the past few months.
By the time he reached twenty-six Huck was feeling rather⦠put out about his aging and enlisted a few friends in āthe scheme of a centuryā break into King Tutās Tomb in Egypt. As far as he could tell all the good stuff had been taken, but it didnāt stop his plans, not that there were too many.
He got himself two months out of work (a request heād made without waiting for his bossā response) and ended up traveling around Europe for old times sake before finally making his way to Egypt. It was a group operation, and one hell of an adrenaline rush but Huck managed to grab some small trinket he found in the sand on his way out. He couldnāt help himself. Who knew how much it cost? Not to mention how great of a souvenir it made.
Unfortunately his plans fell through and Huck was caught. The trial was expected to take up to six months and even on the first day back in the states he was told that he was looking at a good portion of his lifetime behind bars. This led to Huck ratting his friends out in hopes of a few less decades.
He was found dead a week after returning to the states. Huck, having done his research before the trip was quick to assume (like many superstitious people) that it was the curse of King Tutās Tomb that anyone who stole something would die. Unfortunately being dead Huckās opinion didnāt matter too much and the actual cause of death seemed to be due to bacteria in the air of the tomb that could often be deadly.
Huck has always been a busy body, and would go to the ends of the Earth to fill his needs. With a passion for music and athletics heās managed to fill a smaller eclectic niche of artist athletes though for his own reasons he liked to identify more as a prankster rebel sort. He has a great love for traveling, and his own interest with all things morbid really only began after he became addicted to grave digging. Heās a big fan of excuses and is willing to see everything as a moral grey area, for his own benefit. As much as he hates to admit it heās rather weak willed and his self preserving instincts make him a pretty terrible friend. He canāt hold a serious conversation to save his life, nor can he remain quiet for more than a minute or so. Lastly, he does tend to ramble.
