“Okay, I see your point. It’s just easier to avoid them if I know what I’m running from.”

“Hey, don’t you know there are things happening in town? It’s late, you should be home.” 

“I know I know -- But we’re always told to stay indoors and be safe... but what’s really gonna hurt us?”

“No no, you’re fine, I’m just jumpy.” She exclaimed, reaching up to ruck the neck of her horse, him trying to back away form the situation. She held the reigns firmly, the horse not getting more than a foot away. “He is too, we don’t run into many people around this time I guess.”

She couldn’t stop the small blush creeping its way up her cheeks. “I’ll take that as a compliment.”

“It’s okay. Her and my brother -- car crash. But I’m here in Beacon Hills again, fresh start and all. Meeting people like you.”

“Oh, I live with my grandparents now. My mom -- She died about a month ago.”

“Journalist or the news, traveled the world and did her reporting and what not. I used to go with her.”

“I was there for a little bit, where at?”

“Samantha -- Sam, actually.”

“Name a place and I was probably there. Kinda traveled with my mom for her job, took us everywhere. You?”

“But you don’t even know me.”

“We’re in the same boat then.”

“Wow, that’s really cool! Researching things is always interesting, but especially stuff from the past. I feel like it always has a way of coming back into the present, you know?”

“The whole ‘History repeats itself’ mantra.”

“You as well.” The smile stayed as she dropped her hand, instead wrapping a long piece of hair around her finger. “How long have you been in town?”

“Totally understandable.” She decided to ignore the nearly superhuman strength, her brain still spinning, she could over-analyze everything later. “No no it’s okay.. It’s only a mile or two from here.”
