small screwdriver

piece of cloth, like fleece, old sock works too

duct tape

sellotape (the clear stuff for like offices idk everybody has it)

DETERMINATION

yknow, partially skinning these is real easy. You unscrew the ring around the battery compartment, then you simply pull it up bc it’s just elastic (WOO YEAH BABY).

we’re just pulling up the back part of the fur, so unhook that tail. ez pz. u got this.

there are 4 (four) screws holding the back plate in place. Go ahead and gently peel the silver paper off, and leave ’m dangling by their wires. You can just retape them afterwards.. it’s what I did! (with that sellotape)

please be careful with the top clips oml i had to push m back in but just leave it like this, don’t be like me, just leave this boy like this and dont remove the plate completely lmao.

Ductape some cloth, press edges onto tape, cut, fit, put back together! You can test them at this point and see if you’re happy with it. The sound should’ve been reduced by at least 50% depending on material :] experiment!

Then it’s a question of following this tutorial in reverse and putting it all back together!!!

Do you all have any recommendations on where is a reputable place to buy a working furb?

I’m looking to purchase a furby soon! Not looking for anything toooo specific, mostly just want him to be working without too much wear, box not needed. 30ish usd is about my price range, maybe more if it’s one of the preferred furbs below!

I’m autistic and animatronics are my special interest. I can’t work bc of my disabilities and I’ve been saving up a long time to get this boy! If I purchased one and it turned out to be a scam or smth I would be devastated, which is why I’m asking you all for a reputable furb dealer!

also: witch’s cat, dalmatian, pink flamingo, ladybug, tye dye, tart tangerine, red wolf, juicy grape, Valentine’s day are like my perfect furbs if anyone knows of those specifically for sale anywhere!!

I did some digging on the original furby website and apparently this was part of a promotional ‘design a furby’ contest. It was spread through cereal boxes and the winner could go to the Tiger Furby studio.

Highlights: 60+ brand new categories, over 1,000 new names, website dedicated exclusively to names, requests being taken for new categories.

Six months ago, I posted a list of over 900 names specifically to help people in the Furby fandom name their new friends. It received over three hundred notes with all sorts of thanks. People messaged to tell me the names that they had chosen off of the list. I was called a god on multiple occasions. I even referenced it from time to time for myself - that’s where Party Favor got his name from.

And yet, I knew I had more names to contribute yet.

I’m back, and with a vengeance. The drill is the same as last time: below the cut are over nine hundred Furby names, organized by category. But this time, I have a more systematic approach to the lists. Instead of copy-pasting them into a single, slow-loading Tumblr text post, I have put them all on a new website called “The Furby Name Horde”. The original unique names post had 58 categories and over 900 names. This new one has 67 categories and over 1,000 new names. What are you waiting for?
