hello everyone! (we’re doing a little bit of construction right now, so i figured i needed a Pinned Post to have about.)

my name is luca ragnhild hrafnasvinr. i am a 26 year old nonbinary nordic polytheist from kentucky, currently living in ohio. over the course of my life i’ve been and done a lot of things, with my religious background encompassing protestant christianity, catholicism, atheism, wicca, gnosticism, and satanism, in no particular order—in lived experience of opposite matters, i’m trans and poor with a bevy of medical problems and have been homeless and very much suffering before. i’m in a decent spot now, though, and working on coming back to spirituality.

in terms of religious identity, as stated, i am a nordic polytheist. i consider myself a devotee of odin (not in the white supremacist way) and a have a loosely godspouse-ish relationship with thor, which is not romantic but far more... nunly. my primary interest is in the practice of seiðr and in the mystery of metaphor and symbol in skaldic storytelling. well, in all storytelling, which has lit an interest in druidry in me, and i am considering undertaking the study course offered by the OBOD when i have the money for it.

in terms of other identities, as i said, i am nonbinary, and i am bisexual. i am also monogamous and engaged to be wed to the man of my dreams, coming some time in the next few years, probably. i am also of sámi, bavarian, and ojibwe heritage via my father, and variously brythonic, gothic, and dutch heritage from my mother. i am autistic and have C-PTSD and major depression.

all that said, i am working on expanding and honing my knowledge of mythology and concepts within mythological frameworks. study is hard for me as an autistic person, and i find that i engage more easily through discussion where things tend to be relayed more simply than they are in academic text. i would also like to begin working on writing devotional poetry, and pick up sigil-crafting again.

i’ve kind of come to the conclusion that i need to formulate a study plan and guide myself through small lessons one at a time with frequent reviewing, but then the issue becomes... what do i want to study?

because it’s no mystery to me that i want to further my knowledge of heathenry, and introduce to myself the study of druidic philosophy. but what do those mean, or actually entail? within heathenry, i know i very much need to brush up on the sagas (but which sagas are most important for me to know, and how?) and learn more about individual gods. when it comes to druidry, i also need to engage the mythology of the british isles, although not as closely, and i think only to gain a firmer grasp on the basic concepts with regards to metaphor and function, since the cultural similarities between nordic and celtic religions already help me to infer a lot.

insist that all religions are evil and terrible

immediately discredit all religious people as stupid or ignorant

prove themselves just as single- and close-minded as religious extremists

actively advocate for the abolition of religion

for banishing dypshoria and/or reclamation from abusers
