MI Signs in Females.

The ones who have mostly GI symptoms are easy to miss, and often they delay seeking treatment thinking the “stomach bug” will pass.

As an ER nurse…I can attest for these symptoms.

Women present way differently than men.

Key symptoms that put us ALL on high alert for females is jaw pain. You can have the jaw pain even without the chest pain.

(Men are usually abdominal pain. I’ve had patients that have come in thinking they ate something funny because their symptoms started suddenly and have coded right in front of me.)

Females, especially, when something doesn’t feel right…don’t brush it aside like we all typically do. No nurse or doctor will EVER think you’re overreacting for seeking treatment for these symptoms.

I can’t even begin to tell you how many times in my career that I have told patients (usually always women) that it is better to be safe than sorry.

It is always the female patients I need to reassure that it’s okay to seek treatment for symptoms they think are “silly”.

Your life isn’t silly. You know your body.

Don’t wait.

People who sleep less than 7 hours/night are 3 times more likely to catch a viral cold.

Cigarette smokers are 50% more likely to catch a cold than non-smokers… regardless of how many cigarettes they smoke daily!

Cigarette smokers also suffer from common cold symptoms 3 days longer than people who do not smoke.

In a study, people who gargled ½ tsp of salt in 8 oz of water every day had 40% less chance of developing viral colds.
