So this episode is very pain for many reasons, but this little moment caught my eye and I am dying once more, because: wkx looking up with the most open and vulnerable and genuine expression on his face than I’m sure he’s had in public for a long time, and you just know he could be only looking at one person – his 知己 – and the scene cuts to zzs, and they look at each other Like That across the arena, with zzs’ bone-deep sigh of relief because it’s finally, finally over, and his little blink-it-and-you-miss-it nod, and wkx’s almost shell-shocked face breaking out into a tiny smile in response. But! Of course! All this softness is filtered through the painful lens of “well actually everything’s very much not okay because zzs knows he’s going to die in three days and meanwhile wkx thinks that against all odds, he’s got his happily ever after”. And then you get the nice cut to unhinged zhao jing on the floor at possibly the most unflattering angle ever for maximal whiplash Anyway that was a lot of words to say pretty much nothing but *buries head in hands* wenzhou

note how at first, they miss each other and go their own separate ways but now, they meet each other in the middle and stay connected
