Why Creativity is not something to always cheer for
Creativity is the act of pursuing or communicating with ideas that are not explored or thought of.
Why do we cheerish it?
Creativity is almost always sought after and cheerished because it's an ability that few are capable of. It's like intellegince we have good and bad people who have been smart. It depends highly on what it's used for.
Why is it bad ?
To put it simply because creative people seem to have an issue with what exists, they will try to always freshen up what isn't fresh. This sounds great as far as me or anyone else is concerned
The underlying danger is that creativity almost always means bringing in a change to a system. A system that has existed long before you got creative.
What is a system?
A system is a structure that has a built-in hirearchy into it. This is the result of trail & error. Why does it have a hierarchy built into it? Because systems can't function on equal roles. There has to be roles on top and on bottom. Each hierarchy has certain guidelines that has to be followed.
Why and how is this connected to creativity?
Creativity is almost always pitted against systems. A good creative notion fits neat and nicely into the hierarchical structure. This is in the ideal form, why it's cherished.
Creative people need to be aware of the statistics
Creative people however are likely to be wrong most of the time and get discouraged or worse, be creative simply for the sake of being creative. Creativity is beyond helpful if the aim of the individuals is to integrate freshness into a functioning hierarchy otherwise it's quite destructive & will result in frustration for the individual but will hold negative consequences for the people.

What are "memes" really?
What are "memes" really?
I know I'm getting an eye roll from you right now! You already know what a meme is. It's those funny pictures that you like and tag your friends for on Instagram. Well, you're wrong and right.
What is a meme? A meme outside the realm of social media is a single unit of meaning that you can pass on from one mind to another. This can be a cultural, behavioral or thoughtful unit of meaning but it has to be a unit of meaning nonetheless. Pick the most simple statement that you agree or disagree with & you have a meme
Example: Men & women are equal in all possible ways. This is a meaningful statement that can be carried by you. It doesn't mean that you agree or disagree with it, just that it's an idea you are aware of.
Why is it important?
This might sound simple but memes are considerably more important than it seems. Your cultural heritage could be summed up in a series of complicated memes.
Controversial stances & arguments are also, in turn, a series of meme carriers(humans) that are arguing on what meme is a better fit to problems which their source could also be a more complicated meme.
Memes as the foundation of language
Memes are at the heart of human culture (the word is a combination of mimēma in greek, meaning "that which is imitated" and genes. Human language functions on a huge basis based on repetition (that's how babies learn a language, by repeating what they hear).
It would be impossible to find a culture or a system of thinking that doesn't include memes so it's impossible to rule out using them as harmful or helpful as they might be.
What can we do?
bad data leads to bad memes which have intentionally or unintentionally, bad consequences. We should adopt a responsibility: to examine the memes running in our heads & around us then trying to factually & ethically course correct ourselves. Trial & error is a mechanism that has worked out for genes well so far ( You are after all reading this text, hopefully) perhaps memes and those who choose, select & carry them will benefit greatly from being careful.

Morality: a movie that everyone likes
Morality is a tough egg to crack, isn’t it? it’s been the subject of human investigation as far back as civilization. We are going to have a simple & hopefully thought-provoking look at how morality works. Why? Because in order to be able to answer a question, we need to understand how & why the subject of the question works in order to give a good and sufficient answer.
The root of the phrase “moral” goes back to it’s French & Latin roots originally titled as Moralis, Meaning “ proper behavior of a person in society“. This strikes us as a clear-cut, simple idea to follow as far as definitions are concerned.
The phrase “Society” however is subject to different approaches. What is considered proper manners or in a much more updated outlook, right or wrong is subject to change more or less.
We will, therefore, take morality as the idea of “what should be done in difficult situations” or “What’s the best way to deal with a situation that has the best outcome” we mean the best outcome in terms of emotional & thoughtful consequences. We, therefore, oppose bad rules of behavior because they have negative outcomes.
You feel bad after doing something you consider to be cruel or you are not happy with the result of a decision you made because it did not result in the way you wanted.
How is this all related to movies that everyone likes? simple! If you are planning to get all of your friends with presumably different tastes, invited to watch a movie, you choose a film that is the most likely to be found interesting by EVERYONE. Your goal here is to pick something that at best will be liked by all friends & at worst will be just bearable for the friends that have a peculiar taste in movies.
In other words, we start with two principles: A- We have lots of people who we want to have a good time because we get emotional gratification if they do & of course they are trusting us with their time. B- It would take a really really perfect movie to get everyone to love it at the same level even if the members of the group aren’t too different. Basically, whatever film we go with it will be far from perfect but we are aiming for perfection but hoping for the best.
If we are successful in picking a film like this, most of the room has been entertained and everyone (for the majority) feels wonderful & benefits from the social event.
We could argue that morality works the same way. It’s a framework of arrangements & agreements between a group of people that in order to reach the best emotional and physical consequences, agree on a shared idea of what’s right & wrong.
A moral investigation, however, doesn’t end here. This shared idea needs testing ( maybe you can go with a movie that worked in the last hit party that you had & there’s a chance that you might fail or succeed in that venture)
The takeaways here are simple. The moral system that we conceive needs to consider those who will be told how to behave. You will need to come up with something that gives everyone the best possible time with the emphasis being on “best possible” ( John Wick is an action movie that can please romance fans as well unlike a movie that’s solely romantic or action) We can’t just aim people with strong will or compassion.
The second takeaway is we need to be able to tolerate. Just because everyone isn’t going to have an amazing time, doesn’t mean watching movies with the group is a terrible idea or because you can’t give everyone the best possible time, you should try to stop going with a more crowd-pleasing movie.
A moral system, therefore, should be a shared instruction of behavior that is simple enough for all individuals to flourish in & unified enough that doesn’t result in chaos. Imperfect enough that tolerance isn’t thrown out of the window & individuality stumped on & idealistic enough that it can always be improved upon & don’t fall into rigidness & misery.
Why you should be mindlessly obsessed with doing what you want:
You want to do something or be someone & you have an army of people stopping you and worst of all, you agree with them deep down.
Here's the thing though, very few people want you to be you and very fewer people want what you want and even extremely fewer people want those things not for themselves, but you!
So, everyone around us is probably right about we being very dreamy and weird or selfish and all those classics & they could be very well right.
You could easily be happier being a clerk with a steady position than trying to be the next Micheal Jackson.
There's an issue here however:
what you really want isn't summed in your first wish and if it's a failure, then you stop wanting meaningful experiences out of life. You need to keep looking and digging till you find the right one.
Therefore, you owe it to yourself to pick something you want to really do and is meaningful to you.
So step one: pick that one thing you want to do among hundreds and millions and stick to it.
Step two: try to practically learn that activity depending on what it is while holding yourself accountable. This means seeing what are your shortcomings and pros and trying to figure out if the bad outweights the good and if there's room for improvement.
Step three: asses yourself fairly and ALWAYS maintain honesty. You can move to finding the next meaningful expiernce in due time.
It might sound simple but it's very difficult in action so having a guideline always helps you have a clear goal in mind and remember, at the end of the day there'll be resistance from those closest to your attitude but if you end up finding the right activity, everyone will benefit from you. Stay clear and find your calling.

Black Panther & Cultural Revival
Apart from the usual fanfare, the wonderful cinematography & the wonderful cast, there is something incredibly unique about Black Panther as a standalone film that is rarely found in any other blockbuster or superhero movie. It is the first film to actually embrace it’s antagonistic force. It doesn’t employ a moral superiority towards the villain’s ideology by defeating it but rather by embracing it. Naturally on wards, we will be delving into a lot of spoilers so be warned.
Killmonger, the film’s villain is an outcast because his father believed that the highly-technological nation of Wakanda shouldn’t stay hidden & use it’s technological superiority to help the suffering Africans over the world & taking this to an extreme, ends up being killed by the hands of his brother. his child, carries this resentment with him. He believes not only should he become the rightful ruler, but all of Wakanda’s tradition should be betrayed and they should engage in warfare with the rest of the world because from his perspective, it is a kill or be killed worldview.
The revelation of a secret cousin has devastating emotional effects on the hero, Black Panther Tchalla) as well. He had the ideal, if not almost perfect, ascension to the throne. His family was respected by all of his nation. Had unshakable faith in his father’s morality & decisions. This is however all broken apart by the revelation that he had an uncle that was murdered based on disagreement by a man he held in the highest standard.
We have the typical Hero being broken & eventually rising back to his feet, although this is also a very admirable feat for T’Challa, considering the fact that his entire world is upheaval & Kill-monger has been betrayed by almost all aspects imaginable. This is not why T’Challa rises in defense of his nation however.
Kill-monger's motivation are grey. Why ? because they are based on a moral truth however, they are mixed with emotional frustration and resentment therefore the way kill-monger wishes to act on them are extremely radical. This is why T’Challa rises in defense of his nation. His father’s moral legacy is flawed yes but it is based on a sound structure. The parallel can be seen in the scenes that both characters share with their fathers. In case of T’Challa, despite the disagreement & the disillusionment, there is a profoundly clear communication with his father. Kill-monger ends up disagreeing with his father even after becoming king. This tells us kill-monger isn’t stable because his relationship with his father & consequently, nation is ill-informed and based on hatred & therefore can’t go anywhere, T’challa’s isn’t. Therefore despite all of the traditions being in favor of Kill-monger and giving him a right to be king, he has to be stopped. Traditions are meaningless without a society that is in agreement with it and kill-monger's isn’t.
The most highlighted feature that creates a distinction between this movie and others is that after beating the false ideology, T’Challa doesn’t maintain a superior moral stance. He peels away the radical approach & integrates the moral truth that Kill-monger & his father were objecting to. By doing this, and opening up his culture to change and help others, he protects the nation & at the same time refreshes the whole nation. They bring the best of years for being concealed and also embrace the world, ensuring that no one will have to suffer from exclusion like kill-monger did.
Could this be the beginning of a dramatical change for Moviemaking in general?
This news caught my eye today. As the sources claim due to the sci-fi movie “annihilation” seeming to be too mature & intelligent then it should be, there has been a series of arguments which has led to this: a deal between paramount studio & the streaming service Netflix. As most of you know, Netflix is a streaming service that enables its subscribers to access a considerable archive of movies & TV Shows for the price of a monthly subscription price tag & you can stream your videos & shows online. The deal regarding annihilation is that outside of US, Canada & china, Netflix will stream the movie after 17 days of it’s premiere inside of these three countries & in return, Netflix will cover a considerable amount of the movie’s budget.
This might seem like a one-time off deal but if the system turns out to be successful, it could be a major game changer. After taking a brief look at some movies box office records, it’s very clear to me how movies have a tendency to fall down after 2-3 weeks of their release date as the buzz tends to die down & eventually being drown among other releases, should the movie have a great turn-out in terms of profit, the effect could be very amazing indeed. This movie was on the verge of being dramatically changed due to being “too intellectual’ & “over complicated” yet with this deal, it actually might stand a chance of making a profit. This is a business model that can be replicated by other producers & directors in the future.
There is no doubt that streaming services have also made watching things online easier & approachable to use. Many networks & studios are planning to launch their own streaming service. Should this line of deals continue & keeping in mind the almost 70 % drop of box office income after the first weeks of releases big & small, it might seem like a great idea to stream a movie earlier. This way you can entice people who pay for the subscription & are busy to go to a cinema & also give a reason for those who aren’t willing to go to less hyped movies to watch that movie at their own time without having to buy tickets & such.
Either way. Streaming services have dominated Television & it seems Movies are the next key thing. A competition between all of them to see who has more “stuff” to offer & worth staying with. I think these effects will go as far as box office as well. It’s really simple with a virtual reality headset, they can even make you THINK you’re in a cinema
